View Full Version : loud whistling noise

ARRRHGG, so today I'm driving home and I start hearing a loud whistling noise whenever I let off the gas, im not even breaking so I don't think its my pads... I have an 08 A4 Avant with about 25000 miles on it... anyone having or heard of similar problems? I haven't hit anything or ran anything over... checked under the car and under the hood and I dont think anything is loose....[headbang]

hm.. I would check the diverter valve it sounds like you have a leak

x2, a massive tear at that, since it should never really be that loud.

Good think i dont really travel far to work/bus stop and I got an appointment to get my car checked out and tuned up at 25,000 marker...

My engine light came and went with that issue. Stinks for me because I had to drive from Parsippany NJ to Bronx NY for work 2 days in a row before I could get it to the dealer. Should have seen how people looked at me with that loud whistle at red lights lol
