Just looking for opinions on what everyone else did here and how they like it pros/cons. I have APR stage 1 software now and I like the car but I want more. I have purchased 034 HFC and I am now thinking of the APR HPFP to complete this upgrade, software update of course and I will buy a high flow air filter. Is there anything else I should do right away to avoid any problems with this kit. Those of you who have done this already are you having any problems?

Thanks [drive]

can't answer you, but does anyone know the AWHP estimated at this stage?

Planning on doing the same. I have the same two mods and I am very happy. A little more always helps : -)

well im stage two but i skipped stage one. so i cant give you a comparison but i can tell you stage two is sick. (well i dont have hpfp) but with a TP and tune it is definantly better than stock, it just keeps pulling [race]

You'll need an exhaust as well before you can get to stage 2, let alone stage 2+

1 -> chip
2 -> chip / exhaust
2+ -> chip / exhaust / hpfp

It's worth the upgrade, OP. I am VERY happy with my setup. The HPFP makes all the difference in the world. That death you feel right at 4-4.5K RPM's goes away with the HPFP and the car goes smooth all the way to redline. The only potential con to this setup is potentially choosing the wrong exhaust system for your tastes. If you don't like drone, I highly recommend the APR exhaust.

So is that Stage 2 (as indicated), or Stage 2+ (with the HPFP?)

the jump from 1 to 2 looks like the addition of exhaust & carbino (not that carbino does a whole lot?)

carbonio. and yes

intake isn't part of the equation as it's pretty unnecessary for the b7. Stock airbox is more than sufficient.

Stage 2 requires full exhaust (high flow cat or testpipe required) - not just the cat-back setup - intake not required, but recommended for stage 2.

i went stage 1, stage 2, to stage 2+. i have a test pipe and apr hpfp and i have to say that from stage 2 to stage 2+ you won't notice much on the low end but on the high end rpm's you definitely feel a better pull if you're going WOT.

According to APR website exhaust is not necessary for stage 2 + only recommended. I was not going to get the exhaust right now. Just software, HPFP, 034 HFC, & a high flow filter. Anyone running stage 2+ without exhaust?

Me too, running 034 HFC w/ APR stage 2+ only. Went straight to it so can't really compare. It still doesn't pull like my stage 2 DSG GTI did... [:(]

As of today, I'm at Stage 2+.. per the APR website, at least:

VMR TP (still stock exhaust the rest of the way)
KMD HPFP
APR stock/91/93/100 w. TP/Exhaust file & HPFP performance

I run 93 daily, and had the HPFP file flashed today. The butt dyno says the car is a bit quicker, but nothing crazy. I now see 20 and 21 lbs of boost at 2-3krpm, that slowly drops to about 15psi until 6k, then 13 to red line.

From a low rpm roll in 3rd gear, going WOT spools to 19/20psi in less than a second, and it'll stay in the 16-19 range until you get over 4000 rpm -- so getting to 80mph from a roll has never been quicker.

I've got phone videos that probably aren't very helpful, but I'll get them off my phone later. If anything, they sound great.. surprisingly. And they show the quick ascent to 80mph.

That being said, this car still feels like an encouraged pig to me. I guess I can't get over difference in power-to-weight, coming from the blown vr6 in the light mk3 chassis.

Anyway, I'm "Stage 2+" now but without the exhaust and carbino.. I'm gonna go help out my airbox right now a little bit, and give this car one last chance with an (probably APR) exhaust, get the RS4 reps on the car for the rest of the year, and decide what to do with it.. because it seems stage 3/BT is the only way to make these things a thrill to drive -- what I'm missing!

I also have APR 91... APR exhaust.. VMR Test Pipe...AWE diverter valve.. I think I'm running only Stage 1... not even Stage 1+...

Off the question, but if you bring your car to them modded when flashing it. Wouldn't they know which stage to put your chip on? because they didn't ask me anything if I had a test pipe or exhaust.. hmmmm

They are not mind readers, nor will they do a 154 point inspection before flashing your car. It definitely makes sense they should ask you that, but it also makes equal sense for you to disclose any relevant information to them without them asking, like having a test pipe and HPFP if you have them installed on your car.

I will say that the D/O kit is very nice...I will be creating a review thread shortly after I get my pics in order! Give me a day or two to spend some time with my sweet 'blue stuff'

AND

to ataylor and your griping about Stg II+ being not a 'thrill to drive'
you MUST be kidding! Drive a loaner or some other kind of rental car
and maybe you could appreciate what you have!
OR
just go back to your blown VR6 or get a STI or EVO...there's little we can do because of the weight of our autos. If we were really trying to drive the fastest car on the road none of us would be here with B7s. You've got an AUDI and you're making it more amazing than it already was out of the box (as am I and so many others here) and therefore I'm not sure I would ever say it's not a thrill to drive or a thrill to make it a bit more thrilling along the way! JUST my $.02...not that it was requested!
