View Full Version : What's the weirdest thing your B7's ever done while driving?

I'm not sure if any of you have had minor issues regarding your A4 while driving, mine consists of one, okay, maybe two things; here goes...
When I set the radio to 'Mute', it'll occasionally turned ON by itself in very low volume. This happens when I turn the steering wheel sharply all the way -- either to the left or right to turn (whether stopped or low and higher speeds) or just making a very sharp/narrow U-Turn. Today, the radio came on when I steadily floored the accelerator going straight off from a parked curb.
Sometimes my front/left speaker like to go 'Mute" by itself, leaving the rest ON -- I thought I'd lost my hearing for a moment there, but turning the volume knob seems to fix it. This goes for Bluetooth as well while I'm on the phone. The funniest thing was when I finished my conversation, the radio came on for no reason, I "mute it", it keeps on coming back on...back and forth...unless I shut the power off from the radio.
Like to hear yours if you got 'em.

When it's hot outside, my windows likes to roll themselves 1/4 the way down.... It really sucks when it's raining out... BTW. it wont let me roll it up. It's only one window every time, but a different one every time.

That annoys the living shit out of me.
I got the 1/4 window trick the other day, though I was losing my mind when it first happened.
Another one I've gotten is I'll close the sunroof, it slides all the way closed but then decides it would rather be open so just opens right back up on its own.
BTW, these are features... [:/]

That drives me nuts! I think it's due to the temp inside the car is too warm to efficeintly recycle the air to cool it...meaning it needs the cooler air from outside...
Does that sound right?

The windows and sunroof opening sound like a malfunction of the pinch sensor. I've seen it before on hot days in other Audis at work.

When I got my Audi, I had nothing but problems with it, Nothing with the radio even though I noticed that when you turn your while driving, you can’t use your controls on the while. Which is fine .... other thought's, I bought my car already hooked up. rims, suspension, intake exhaust and Revo stage 1, after driving it for a day or 2 I noticed, I lost boost while driving on the highway in 6th gear, the problem is not fixed, Audi doesn’t want to do anything to my car until I bring the car back to stock. I already got OEM air box for it, once i put that in, maybe they will fix my problem. After reading allot stories that other people have, it might be Cam flower, Cam Shaft, or HPFP. I bought a upgrade kit from KMDTUNING, but have not installed the pump untill Audi fix's my problem first
I just hope Audi could fix it quick before my warranty goes out :)
The windows and sunruff is pain in the ass. but nothing could be worse when you have something wrong with your engine, or turbo :) so be happy..
And seriusly i'm so fed up with German cars so far i had 4 of them and nothing but problems, I dont think i will ever buy another one. Or at least anytime soon.

I have the same problem with my driver front window, i would close the window and a second later it opens by itself its only the driver window and it happens randomly. Also I replaced my BB tour with a new tour, I paired the Bt but everytime i ge in the car and it syncs it makes these extremely annoying sound.[headbang][headbang]

the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me while driving was, my car shifting into neutral while driving....I was like wtf!!! I couldn't accelerate any more; found the reason why, some chick moved it with her thighs while moving back to her seat.

Thats your power steering pump hitting it's max, or you're low on PS fluid. Don't keep doing that.

oh this is fun......
when its hot outside like hitting triple digits, my dipped headlight and adaptive headlight warning lights go off *lights still work fine*, my windows wont roll down or up (meaning if this randomly happens while my windows are down, im screwed after i park my car), my turn signal "clicks" in the most random rythm like its stuttering when i use it. And when i turn the car off and get out. my remote wont work for the alarm or the trunk. i most lock and unlock everything manually. and my wipers sparatically go off.
The dealer duplicated the problem and replaced an interior control unit, and 2 months later the problem came back. FML!!

Mine does this too. I am too lazy to pull the door panel off to check the connections, since it only happens at low volumes for me.

Ac decides to to turn up the fan speed at random times. you guys are experiencing some possessed car stuff.

Once I was driving my A4 Ti and stopped at a light at about 6PM on a busy road and my car wouldn't move when I gave it some gas. Then the car basically shut itself off. After a minute or so from panicking, I tried restarting the car and it started normal. (Note that I didn't have any type of symbol show on the dash) Then after about 2 minutes of driving my car shuts down again. Found out the gas wasn't going to engine correctly. I was also due for service that weekend and it happened on a Thursday.

Thank you for mentioning pinch sensor, makes perfect sense! That explains why my front passenger window sometimes goes back down upon closing.

Only happened once, but it was when I first had the car. All of a sudden the wiper came on by itself and the dash and radio started flashing...scared the shit out of me. It stopped after like 2 seconds...

From my understanding, German cars are awesome, but they have allot of electrical problems, compare to Honda or any other Japanese car, they don’t even come close to have problems like that.
One of my family members have Honda pilot 150K miles on the car and never had a single problem, only Brakes and Tires, regular stuff.
I found another problem with my car, it can’t FLY ;)

Always check their work... Have you ever said you did something at work when you knew you needed to, but forgot....
I have found low fluids when I was told it had been checked..
Low P/S fluid was my first issue with the car......(not really an issue, but you know what I mean)

weirdest thing thats ever happened to me was i was rolling along in first gear up a hill in 495 traffic (stop and go nightmare) and somehow my car dropped into neutral without me touching the clutch...almost rolled back into the car behind me.
another time real late one night the dipped headlight light came on after going over a bump then went off

Dipped headlight warning after hitting a small bump during daytime when lights were not even on. Warning has not returned again and lights work fine.

Sometimes when the front two windows are all the way down, I will roll them up and then one will immediately go down 4 inches or so after they close. Its pretty weird and it happens every once in awhile.
