I ran a search and found close, but no cigars.

I understand you have to remove the switch and do something with the re-wiring?

Thanks in advance!

yes, recode them via VAG COM

Please explain. The only VAG COM foglight trick I know of is to have fogs w/highbeam which in the process turns off the amber "parking" lights.

^^ Yes
You can't run the fog with the headlight switch on the "OFF" position without tempering the car wiring harness or ECU, period

Apparently you can do fogs only but the DRLs will be on too:

Hmm - I've done the vag-com to turn off the parking lights but when I turn on my fogs the city lights still some on (I too would like to pull the fog switch will in the off position and have only fogs on with no city lights)

I did the wire tap thing, so right now I can turn on the fog manually BUT the city lights are still on, I have tried various vag settings but still haven't found one where the fogs are used as DRL or just fogs on without city lights

I have bi-xenons and a canadian car if that helps

Sorry mate. You CANNOT do that on a canadian car. some of the newer Canadian versions have fogs and city as their DRL however older models have a separate DRL in the light housing. I will be tapping into my fogs to power them when the car turns on regardless of day/night.

I have my VAG set so i could drive with Highs and Fogs at the same time. If i decide to do what DIY of the 2nd post will anything mess up with the coding?
