i like the fog grills, and the exhaust, but the rear spoiler is to much, and not feeling the wheels and tails to dark for my taste, but all around not bad

get bigger and different(not a fan) rims..to much sidewall...and to be honest... i only really like the front of the car, its almost too much going on with the black door handles and cf trunk lip...

thats just ym opinion though

Not a fan of the wheels or the spoiler or the tails... But I like the rest of it, maybe make the chrome window trim and trunk trim black so that it fits in with the rest of the car.

I know you're not asking for anyone's opinion...

but the rear is effing up your hard work. the tint on the tails is too dark and too much.

the spoiler is atrocious. at least get it color matched.

the wheels I'm sure look good in person, but will look even better when you get coils.

overall though, your car is dope.

did u give tina ur tails, personally i would sell the rear spoiler too, just go with a m3 color match one, or the dtm cf one if u want to stay cf, go back to the stock tails if u can, and if u can i would go with coils, and if ur going to paint the hood, mine as well just sell it and put the stock hood on, or sell that hood and save up for a vorestigner hood at least the vorest actually works

hey capitan..DTM cf is a little pricey..i could go back to stock tails but with little tint. i could always get the trunk spoiler colormatched..btw your black 710s are sick! im still deciding Hyper Silver or Black

Just curious though, including labour and parts, how much did all these mods cost? Ballpark.

Yeah this shop painted the front bumper for my friends eclipse. It didn't turn out the right color so he brought it back twice until they got it right. It was cool of them to redo at no extra charge but in total it took like 2 weeks

http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo288/AudiTFSI3o3/AudiTFSI3o3/DSC04098.jpg

I will use this picture as an example.
your car doesn't look good with meshed wheels nor the blacked lips. I'd suggest a staggered setup on wheels. set the rear camber to -2 degrees.
if you want to stick with non staggered setup wheels, I suggest something like BBS RGR. OZ Superturismo(everyone has them on the B7 so maybe you should be different)
if you are crazy, get a set of HRE P40 wheels. lol

now moving onto the front end, your hood and grille are black so you should get a blacked out filler plate. then vinyl tape the chrome window trims.

to be honest, the real distraction from your car is the wheels that you have now.

I hope my advice is helpful.

Call me crazy but I would rather not adjust my suspension out of spec (dangerous on the street not to mention will kill tires substantially quicker) for looks especially when you can choose in advance to not make it rub by choosing equipment better suited for the application.

Pass. To me that just looks silly and an exercise in futility. My Supra w/2.5" of front ground clearance w/o some silly negative camber setting was enough of a PITA. I couldn't imagine having horrible traction and going through tires 5x faster would help my enjoyment factor. I never understood why people think a huge negative camber is a good look. To me it looks like either a bandaid fix or a car that was lowered beyond the suspension's adjustability and the owner was too cheap to get a camber correction kit.

But, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Doesn't change the fact that the reduced contact patch is dangerous in inclement conditions and you will wear tires substantially faster.

no you are not crazy. you just have some wrong info.
it's not dangerous, why would that be dangerous? i never heard anyone got into a accident because of the negative camber.
to be quite honest, when you lower your car, sometimes even the dealer can't adjust the car back to 0 degree of camber.

lastly, camber doesnt kill tires. the tow does. I have my rear camber turned all the way to negative and my tires wear out just fine.
i don't mind my tires wear out faster than stock, i prefer to have a better look than saving $$$.

Toe kills tire wear, not camber. Camber done right can help handling.

Jer
08-01-2009, 07:30 PM
Just like you have never heard of anyone getting into an accident because of low tire pressure but guess what... it happens every hour all across the country. You just won't see it on any police report. The reason your car can't be dialed back within tolerance isn't because of anything the mechanic is doing wrong it's because the car was never designed to be lowered let alone that much. The adjustments are there for factory suspension components and factory wheels/tires. If you are at the limit of your adjustment then you've lowered it too far and this can sometimes be corrected via camber correction kits if anyone makes them. I won't even get into the added strain introduced to the driveline in an AWD vehicle when you start lowering it drastically. The bottom line is that doesn't make it 'alright' just because your dealer can't adjust it any further. It cracks me up how people think this is a 'better look'. A crap load of ricers slammed their rice rockets on cheap springs but couldn't afford (or weren't smart enough to know it needed to be done) a proper alignment or camber correction kits and just drove them like that. A couple other retards saw it and though it looked cool and before you know it's cool to look stupid just like talking like a retard has become the in thing. Doesn't make it right and the majority of the population thinks your an idiot. Just calling a spade a spade.

It's simple, negative camber is used for race cars for better traction when cornering hard. This does NOT mean your street driven every day car is going to be faster because you have negative camber dialed in. Factory tolerance is generally around +/-0.2 and anything else is considered out of spec. Why you ask? It's simple. Cars are designed to handle a certain way and the suspension is a huge part of this. It's important to maintain a proper contact patch at all four corners and anything you do to alter this adversely affects your cars safety. Why is it you think that there are campaigns telling people of the importance of proper tire inflation? If your tires are low it decreases the amount of tire making contact with the road (aka contact patch) and this not only decreases your overall breaking distances but if you encounter inclement weather (rain, snow...) then the likelihood of a crash increases as your cars ability to properly handle this situations decreases. If a couple psi can cause a hydroplane how much do you think that a full two degrees of camber (in any direction) will affect the handling? It's pretty simple really. Anyone who tells you otherwise has no idea what they're talking about.

I know a couple of you are getting steamed up as you read this and are getting ready to fire up your keyboard in retort but if you are just know that you are arguing the incorrect side of an argument so it's best to just walk away. Nobody likes to be wrong but arguing further just takes a simple misunderstanding and makes it full blown ignorance.

Alkemix

I know you're going for something different that pops and is special to you. I think there is too many "special" items on your car (special like eye catcher, not short bus). You should narrow down the individual items you are trying to make "pop" on your car while complimenting them with some subtle, yet really clean additions.

VMR 710 is a good way to go. I've yet to see a blacked out/contrasted hood car that I liked, except Elohites, but thats because it went with his roof rack really well. The tails and CF spoiler, IMO look decent... reminds me of the CF M-Package on the 1 Series bimmers.

EDIT: Hopefully my 2 cents don't seem like I'm not impressed, cause you've done a lot of really good mods, most of which I want on my car.

I am not steamed up and I am not here to fire back at you. racing with my keyboard is so lame.
Again, I totally disagree with your statements. My opinion still holds. I will keep on lowering all my cars with the best coilovers out there and I will enjoy every minute of the car after they are lowered. I don't do ricey mods, buddy.

I think the wheels destroy this car.
Not a fan of this tint as well, but the wheels, have to go in my opinion.
Work on it [:)]

The car looks great, but I'm agreeing with CBRmatt regarding the spoiler, it looks a litte bit too much for my taste. Maybe if you colormatched like you said it would look more neat.

Overall though,[up]

car looks good, but you need different wheels. they are killing the look imho.

i like the fog grills, and the exhaust, but the rear spoiler is to much, and not feeling the wheels and tails to dark for my taste, but all around not bad

Well I'd be more than I happy, but if you've noticed, since post one, here @ AudiZine, I've been on the same wheels, my 18in UltraLeggeras...
All i changed, was colour, and tires.... [:)]

everything is good except for the wheels like said. if you through on something like 19" black CH's it would look tits! and maybe color match the sides of your hood so it flows a bit better up front.

Painting your rear valence black might help.

Might as well do the chrome strip while you're at it.

Well you are the OP, so you can pretty much say whatever you like, heheh...
Yeah, I've changed a lot of tires, true...
Dont blame me, they are destroyed after hard cornering, and trackdays, hahah...

As for the wight reduction. The correct expression is weighted, past tense.
After all the gutting it was down, 300kgs less, at 1300kgs.
Convert it to your lbs and you will see the difference.
it was a whole different car. For sure....

I agree with most others on here. Those wheels don't seem to really fit the car. And color-matching the spoiler would be nice.

I think the car looked better without the black rings in the back (but I'm biased as I also have a debadged rear - although I bought a set of black matte rings that I just painted glossy but am debating on putting them on [:p] ).

Have you considered color-matching your rear diffuser? Looks a tad off.

Otherwise, good work! Looks like you've spent quite some time on this ride. [;)]

its been awhile since i've come back to this thread, but i've swapped the Konigs for the stockies about 2 weeks ago. i think black didnt work on the car at all. and seeing how the "silver" of the stockies flows better, thats what im sticking with. so springtime the hyper silver 710s is a definite yes

compared to

you can see most of the differences from before and after. removed the handles, blacked out window trim, black mirrors are QG again, drilled rotors, red calipers

looks nice on the stockies just very agressive with the other ones.

the vmr Hypersilver will be a perfect look

That's your opinion. I happen to have a differing opinion when someone bumps a 4yr old thread to inform everyone the pics no longer work. How did you manage to get your computer powered on today?
