In the market to have my Black A4 windows Tinted. I'm contemplating how dark to go, considering cops and tickets... I live in Nassau County and now I just need some ideas and maybe some opinions, even some places worth going to.

I live out in suffolk and im about to get 35s all around today hopefully ill post some pics up soon im black on black and ive asked a few friends they said the cops dont really care at 35 so much.

My brother has 35% all around on his car and never got pulled over.

Another car in the family had 35% front and 20% rear and never got pulled.

Yet another car in the family had 20% front and 5% rear.......got pulled over few times.....

I don't live in long island, but westchester just north of NYC. I have 35% all around and don't get pulled over ever. Only time I got crap about it was when I got pulled for no front plate :)

Lived upstate by Albany. Have 35% LLumar on the sides (i dont like the look of 2 diff percentages on the side) and 20% in the rear window.

Never had an issue.

i live in nassau county also, and i run 20% all around with a large sunstrip on the windshield and have never had a problem with tint nor front license plate (knock on wood)

i was also in staten island/brooklyn all the time when my girl was living in staten island, and i've never had a problem there either.

You've asked for input from NYr's, but here's input from a black car owner ;]

First, for a cop to pull you over soley for window tint, he'll have to be a complete prick or be having a slow day.
On my previous cars I've put limo (5%) in the back, and 35% in the fronts, needless to say I got pulled over (was able to drive around for 2 years before that issue).
My cars paint is brilliant black & I opt'd for 70 all around (check profile pic, I'll get around soon, hopefully this weekend, to post up some summer pics with better lighting). It looks gorgeous and gives the car a nice contrast, instead of going super dark. I believe my backs are a little darker b/c USP comes with a factory tint.
Go with 50-60% all around, you won't be disappointed (gives windows a nice smoked look).
Also consider winter time (not sure what winters are like down there) but sunlight decreases a lot and trying to see out your windows with dark tint all the time is tough, well at least for us older guys ;]
However, in the end it is what you would like, any tint makes any car look 100% better. Just my 2cents.

Not in NY, but I've been pulled over for my 20% tint twice. Generally, they're looking for a reason to pull someone over, to see if they can get a DUI, possesion, etc... Pretty annoying though, as they're $130 a pop.
