Question:
I was looking into running 19 x 8.5 Front (ET35) and 19 x 9.5 rear (ET 38) on a 04 A4Q Sedan. Stock USP sport suspension (will remain at that height). Seems guys are running 9.5's after some googling, but I don't want to roll/pull fenders. Will a 9.5" on the rear fit with a little wider tire? What would be a good matched (size/height/diameter) tire for front & rear. Say 235/35/19 front, 265/30/19 rear. Would a 265/30/19 fit on the back on the car, without rubbing? Fender or suspension? Am I limited to 235's on the front? Or would say a 245/35/19 fit? Would the tire size be too far off for the AWD system? 25.26" for the 265's, 25.48 on the 235's, I can't see 0.22" making much a difference, heck, I'm sure thats almost a bias between brands, for same listed tire size.

Hi. I have a Audi A4 B6 2004 1.8TS Quattro (limo).
I have found new nice wheels to a verry good price, but I dont know if they will fit.
They have 2 different wheels.
1. 9.5x19 ET20 - Will this work to my car? If not.. do you think will work with small mods like fender rolling?
2. 8.5x19 ET47 - This I think will fit, but will it looks good with ET47? Yes I can use about 15mm spacer, but i think the bearing will take damage with so thick spacer.
Thanks. :)

Sorry if this isn't the right thread for this question, but I wasn't sure where else to post it. Has anybody seen photos of '09 A6 Prestige wheels on a B6? I'm looking at a set, but it's hard to imagine it hasn't been done before and it would be great to see a picture of what they would look like.

I'm no wheel guru but I've been reading up on wheels lately & that sounds like it should fit, I'm getting 245/35 on a 18/8.5 wheel

I actually took a trip to Japan a month or so ago and got them. Original plan was to build an e36, turned out to be perfect that I could get m14-m12 conversion studs then run a 5x114.3 wheel without adapters.

No, he actually reposted my post in another section of the forum. I do apologize to him, it's just that I don't prefer to run cheap, heavy, cast Chinese made wheels like he does. Maybe one day I'll go back to being a 16 year old with my wheel choices, till then I'll just stick with a 16 year old's styling choices.

You got butthurt enough to creep through my post history like a weirdo. It's not the brand of wheel it's your incredibly horrid choice of fitment. What good are "quality wheels" if they stick out 3 inches like a Mexican lowrider? This is an audi not a Buick regal. And don't even get me started on the green spikes as your lug caps lmao.
What's under the hood ? I'm guessing a dusty ass stock 1.8T that's in dire need of maintnenance. This is what happens when an audi becomes 10+ years old and JDM kids get their hands on them.

Post history? Like your previous posts? Yeah, that's how I found your little wanker forum whore post. And I'm guessing I was right about you running $500 ebay specials on your car by you emotional status here.
And I know this is going to blow your very narrow mind but there are these thing that exist out in the world known as "flares." They are usually denounced in the car world but when you have a boring B6 that has practically no aftermarket support you make awesome things work so you don't look like a highschooler who bought a set of used wheels from a TT owner to put on his hand-me-down car, Or I could just buy proper lips for my wheels because unlike you, I have that option, but I'm not. Also, does it contribute even further to your emotional status that my aluminum lugs weigh less than the stock steel lugs you are almost certainly running?
And no, the car has a god forsaken 3.0, I can't do anything to this powertrain however till I move back to the States due to Italian law. Flipside of that is when I am back in the States, as a fabricator/machinist(including CNC)/welder I can put whatever engine in this car Id like. Its awesome having to not buy parts off ebay like some. [;)]
TL;DR...
A) I thought the internet stopped using "butthurt" like 5 years ago?
B) Your car sucks, as well as your attitude towards others' work.

This car is going to be a chick dressed like a dude (pretty sure that's the simile you were looking for, but analogies are hard) until I can be back in the land of the free, and I'm ok with that. Its the same as stormtrooper putting wheels on his car that are worse than stock. Of course these cars aren't racecars or fast, as much as many on this forum want to think and with that idea this thing is just going to be a weird overseas DD that I can take to Worthersee and make Europeans smile about because it isn't sitting on $500 wheels and can do a rwd burnout (if the clutch is worth a damn) Then when the time comes it will get stripped out and swapped into the transgendered SOB its not supposed to be.

Respect is earned by mod lists that are limited to spark plug specs, coilover brand, and bolt on factory brake swap. Got it.
Also never mentioned I worked hard, hard work is spark plug swaps (if you could send me a write up on that it'd be awesome)

Joke's on you though since I no longer own my b6. I currently daily a bus pass and drive the b7 to get groceries. And the b7 is completely stock.
Also you keep conflating "things I've done to my car" with "earned respect" and "taste". You're mistaken.

Let me guess, the PO also bought the ebay front lip that you so proudly listed, the ebay front grill, the awesome 2 foot shifter because Japan is so very close to Italy. Did the PO also want to do a RWD conversion? Just curious

No, I really meant a dude dressed like a chick. I dont think anyone really worries about a girl dressing like a guy. Its whatever.
A stock 1.8 is not fast but has plenty of potential to be just that. If you do your research youll find that there are options for your 3.0 that dont consist of your 3.0.
I dont think Europeans will be smiling because its cool. I think they will be laughing at you especially when they realize that its your clutch thats creating all that smoke and your wheels aren't moving at all.

Yeah forgot about the Ebay lip, I actually don't mind that bit, the aero I like doesn't go well with the grandpa body lines of these cars at all so ill probably stick with it.
But stockish grill is on its way, 2ft shifter was my creation with 0 Japanese inspiration (that's old hot rodding culture, read a book ya goof), and I don't quite understand the last question, but ill try to answer. I dont think the gentleman even knew the car was AWD. Nardi wheel was also me (shameful I know, stock Audi steering wheel swaps are the shit)

Hey guys, remember a couple pages ago when this used to be a no chatter thread? People could freely post wheel setups for others to look at. You'd never know if it was loved or hated, unless someone sent you a PM. And if someone made any sort of comment other than a wheel setup, it would be deleted in a matter of hours. Besides your car not running, that's a zinger too.

Only joke is you paying for wheels that are worse in every measurable aspect (and some subjective aspects) than your factory wheels.
Besides your car not running, that's a zinger too.
I do apologize, I assumed due to a "senior member's" love of memes that it was anything goes.
Do you even know what wheels I have ? Have you even see my car?
Do you know why it's not running ? You're an idiot man. You're gonna keep getting roasted. Skinny jeans wearing, dildo shift knob having, vape pen smoking ass lol.
My engine build cost more than any car you've ever owned. Some ugly ass jdm wheels don't impress me.
If you dislike your audi so much and hate on the euro community, why did you buy one and try to "mod it" and come on audizine. ? Foh

Don't need to have seen your car, I can tell by the mannerisms you use and your strong opinion of a couple pictures with no background info on them. Although I did kind of depict you as a skinny jeans, vape, ear ring wearing, DC Shoes, Monster Energy, hipster guy so maybe I am wrong about your wheels. And I'd love to see your build! I'm sure it's nothing I haven't seen before and will be surprised if it lasts through break in but yeah I'm sure it's cool and expensive!
And I bought an Audi because there aren't many options available in Italy, especially capable of importation back to the states. And I came here for the classifieds, haven't had enough posts (I'm guessing) to have all of my account features unlocked so here I am, and I do thank you for helping me get my post count up.

Damn man, so much hostility over the opinions of strangers! IMO you shouldn't feel the need to justify your choices in mods, style, or the direction you want to take YOUR car. You joined AZ like a week ago, threw up some pics of your stancebro'ed a4, and now feel insulted by some constructive criticism from an old/well-versed enthusiast community? If you truly like the way your car looks, all the power to you, but I personally am not digging the look. Be proud of your ride, do what you think looks good, not what the 'scene' gives you points for.
Grandpa lines? Comon... the design of the b6 was definitely ahead of its time for being a 12-14yo car.
Look at the bright side though, if you are racing someone in your slow ass 3.0, you can hit'em with a spyhunter maneuver and shred their tires with those dope spikes FTW!

Not upset about the dislike, that is damn sure expected. It's that this fucking dude wants to be a critic in a thread that's meant to help people out (so if they don't plan on getting over fenders not to buy 11j +22) I fully expect all of this to be deleted but had to have a go at meme lord for his bumbass wheels first.

I can now understand the mindset behind the direction of your car since all of what you have owned has been japanese, including your stolen Honda civic, aside from the Lupo with sweet coilovers. Oh looks like I forgot the E46.
Japanese drift scene does not apply to Audi cars. Im sorry, it just doesnt work.
Fits fine in the S13 though:

Look at you making me feel all nostalgic. My car looks completely different now. The wrap is 3M Matte Dark Grey. I did it myself for around $600. Shops in my area charge anywhere from $2k upwards of $6k. Not sure what your local shops would charge.

Look at you making me feel all nostalgic. My car looks completely different now. The wrap is 3M Matte Dark Grey. I did it myself for around $600. Shops in my area charge anywhere from $2k upwards of $6k. Not sure what your local shops would charge.
How hard is it to wrap a car

It shouldn't be a problem. I have in my summer setup standard BC Racing V1 coils almost in minimum height and 18x10,5" +30 R8 wheels fitted with 225/40 tires.

Looking at some new wheels. Coilovers are set to 24.5" all around, what's a good size that won't rub?
Looking at 3sdm's, sizes are 18x8.5, 18x9.5, and 19x8.5 in various offsets. Rubbing on big bumps is ok, just as long as turning radius isn't affected.
EDIT: I used a site for comparing offsets and it looks like an 18x9.5 with +40 offset with a 235/45/18 will only stick out an extra .25". Looks like that may be a good fit. Not sure on the tire size. I just used the stock sport suspension tire size but for an 18" wheel.

If it were me, I would run a 225/40 tire on that 18x9.5 +40 setup. It'll be a little stretch, but not to the point where I would be afraid to daily drive it. A 235/45 is pretty meaty, and would probably rub a good bit.
I'm also an authorized dealer for 3SDM wheels. Let's talk about what you're after and I'll see if I can't get you set up.

Awesome!
I'm still torn between the 18's and the 19's.
I was looking at the 0.06's, I don't mind the occasional rub over bumps, and I also don't mind a bit of stretch. But I don't want something crazy like. 205 on a 10 inch wheel, lol.
I'd also like it to still feel like it handles pretty good.
I don't know if all of that is too much to ask for 19" wheels.

I have a 215 on my 10 wide show wheels haha (seen a few posts up). I definitely don't recommend trying to daily that. Depending on how far away the show is, I don't even put them on until I get to the venue!
In my experience, I hated my B6 on 19s. It felt higher even when I lowered it, and didn't ride as well, but I know a lot of people love them. It's really a personal preference thing. If you're looking for ride comfort, I would run an 18" wheel with a mild stretch if any. The 225/40 I mentioned earlier would be perfect.
Let's move this conversation to PM, so all the people subbed to this thread don't get bombarded with notifications.

I am thinking about buying a new set of wheels, but I can't decide what rim width to choose. I can either go safe, with 235/40/18 8j with an et between 15 and 42, or 9j with et between 0 and 38. So it's either 8J et35 or 9J ET38. I am not sure if the 9J will fit without rubbing. It will stick 10mm farther than the 8J. Is anyone running with such a configuration (9J ET38) that could post some photos and give me some feedback?

18x9 +38 with a 225/40 tire. Zero modification to the fenders or camber adjustment. You can get dirt nasty low on 9 wides.
You can also get low on 18x10, even with a low offset, but you start getting into super stretched tires, modified fenders, and non-stock camber adjustment.

I ran 18x9.5 +25 with no fender mods. I had a pretty small 215/35 tire on it though. Fitting wheels is easy. It's getting the tire in there, and getting low that becomes an issue.

Most people come here looking for wheel and tire ideas and such. Ride height (fender to ground) is important when getting the right look. Please go measure it and don’t be lazy. Entering “Low” should not be an acceptable answer. Hardly anyone bothers to fill out the info suggested. I can see someone not knowing their wheel offset or spring rates etc, but come on, Ride height isn’t hard to find out. Just sayin.

It's the complete opposite of bad! And I love your ride height. Did you do suspension lift? Or is it stock 1BR or something?

Thanks!
She looks a bit higher in the pic than the actual height - sits at ~stock height. I realized while putting those wheels on that I'm actually running Bilsteins. I need to do some more research on which they are

Do you guys think 235 55 r18 tires will fit in a4 b6 Avant? The rims are 18 et44 off a Volkswagen and the car is completely stock suspension. Is it compatible and able to clear suspension, would it need spacers? I read somewhere that some things may be affected such as speedometer but I just want to know if it'll work.

The offset is fine unless u have a BBK setup. In fact it probably won't even rub if you don't have sport suspension and rides high on the stock set up. The only problen is its gonna look stupid as hell with a tire profile that big. Might as well jack up the suspension and go monster.

Brand/Name: Audi A5 OEM Wheels from 2013-2014
Size: 18x8.5
Offset: +29 ETA
Spacer(s): None
Camber: slightly negative due to lowered geometry with stock control arms.
Tires: 235/40 Michelin Pilot A/S 3+
Suspension: Bilstien B8 shocks paired with H&R lowering springs. This pairing is sold as a kit by ECS tuning and claims about 1.7in F and 1.6in R lower than stock. ES#850
Spring Rates: Unknown
Ride height: Center of front wheel well fender edge to ground = 25inch, Center of back wheel well fender edge to ground = 25inch
Fender mods: None
Rubbing: Yes, front left slightly rubs everytime I hit a minor pothole or dip in the road. I initially went slightly narrower on tires in the hopes of making the setup fit without rubbing. I suspect a slightly smaller tire wall height would have been ok. As it stands now, I may be able to solve the issue with the the fender screw mod. Otherwise rolling time.195248195249195250

Alzor 654's (19x8.5 ET42) with MPS4S 255/35-19's... Bilstein coils lowered about 3/4". Front needed 5mm spacer to clear the Q5 4pots and I think it would have rubbed the upright without the spacer, as well. Rear no spacer (would have been too close to the fender arch for comfort).

VMR V710 19"x 8.5" ET35 with 235/35/R19 tires. No spacers, no drop, no rubbing. It's getting dropped soon, still have some other bugs to work out first, ABS light woes. Did get the new one piece S4 outer tie rods and stock inners swapped out. New alignment and it feels way better.

With my lift everything fits perfect. About nine inches of ground clearance. Where I live I need every inch I can get.

Squeezed some AMG monoblocks in from '98 SL500. A little too much rubber but i kinda like it. Rubs a smidge occasionally. Stock sport suspension on the 1.8 6spd with USP bits at painter.
Wanted to try but not sure If I'm keeping.

I’ve been big on OEM 18x8.5’s lately. All the A5 versions are ET29. about to grab a b9.5 set to replace the b8.5 ones i’m running now.

Tires: Continental "SportContact 6" (DOT 0723)
Noticed these are somewhat lighter than the 17" of the same model... guess the lower tire profile and the Si7 alloy helps :) Car feels great ! Man o man, these are so hard to find around here... now that 1 year of searching and dreaming finally pays off !

Those wheels look great! I like the "Turbo" logo on the back, too. Nice, clean look.
Also, that's kind of a cool old-looking building there. What is--or was it?

Thanks a lot ! [:p] The city itself was a very important industrial pin on the map back in the 80s... this specific building used to be a marine engines factory, making giant piston rods, crankshafts and gears.
