View Full Version : Please Help! I am going on a road trip tomorrow!!!!

I have a 2005 A8L. I got in the car today and it started up normal and as soon as i went over 5 mph the "door open alarm" sounded and it stayed on for appox. 1 min then went off while i was driving. As soon as the car drops below 5 mph the alarm goes on again for appox. 1 minute. I checked all the doors the trunk the hood and the gas cap and the gas door. There are no idiot lights on the dash at all. anyone have a clue what the hell is causing this alarm?[confused]
I was wearing my seat belt also...

probably have a bad door lock, doesn't it show the specific door? you need a VAG-COM with CAN support or whatever most likely (don't know too much about those things), scan the door control modules to see which one is showing open.

I actually scanned the car for him..nothing. He eventually ended up figuring it out with no help from me or the VAGCOM. Ended up being something about the electric parking brake motors. He just reset the parking brake and no more chime.
And Kurt, I posted this solution so when you search the forum in a few years from now it will show up

I actually scanned the car for him..nothing. He eventually ended up figuring it out with no help from me or the VAGCOM. Ended up being something about the electric parking brake motors. He just reset the parking brake and no more chime.
