The right setup most certainly will not rub. However it looks way too tall imo. A 225/35/19 and a 35 -40 off set w/ 8" rim will be perfect w/o rubbing probably not even when its lowered a decent amount.

DON'T DO IT

they won't rub because of the insane fender gap but your car will look like a rollerskate

Yep I agree it will look ridiculous.

I had 18"s on stock non-sport suspension for a week while I was waiting for my suspension and it looked horrible.

Thanks all for the input. Ive never put anything bigger than 16s cuz ive always had older cars, and im tired of the tippy cornering on the stocks. Maybe ill just pick up some 17's till i get coils.

18" rim's + sport or race aftermarket springs = acceptable 19's if you want. Spring's are about 200 bux and if your ok w/ tool's the install is very very simple.

How's the handling with just springs? much cornering improvement? it seems like it would almost be a waste, car has 135k on it, not positive but i think the susp is original so the shocks are overdue for replacement.

Well I have Vogtland Sport springs on mine and stock shocks. It only dropped about 3/4" over stock sport. I have 142k miles on my shocks and it is a little bouncy on country roads but its not really noticed most of the time and still much stiffer then any stock American car hahaha. The handling is improved and would be a greater improvement and possibly perfect daily driver setup if I added bilsteins and a rear sway bar.
