I've got a '00 1.8 Tiptronic with the ATW. And I could use some advice.

I've seen some deal on here recently, one imparticular was a K04 kit including:
K04, Racetec Intercooler. Software. FPR for around $2200 (I forget exactly).

I'm wondering if there is a better option, my car is currently stock performance wise, and dont want to spend more than $3K. I'd like to get as much as possible for the tiptronic for that budget. Can someone give me any suggestions or point me in the right direction?

Any other options than a k04 for the tip? should I try to piece everything together or go with a bundled kit?

For $3k........Stick with the K04

You could also research this
http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ATP-VVW-151&Category_Code=VVWTK
But after you buy everything else that is needed I I know you would be way over budget

^He really would not be that overbudget. If anything, he would be cutting it rather close (maybe $100-200 extra), assuming he already has an exhaust set up.

GTRS Kit: $1,500
TIP: $150
Tune and Injectors: $1,000
FMIC: $250 ebay kit
MBC: $50
FPR: ???
Guages: ???

I would go with an eliminator kit if I were you or some sort of gt2871 turbo. After you sell your stock parts, you would be in the $3k range.

Noooo, do not go with the K04 unless you want to kill your transmission quicker. The torque from the K04 is too much for the stock tranny. Id go with a GTRS, or you can buy my PES T28 kit!

Kit with REVO software $2700+TIP($300)+FMIC - So depending on FMIC and if your going to install this yourself, then you might be close.

http://www.ecodetuning.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=504

Wasn't considering the Ebay FMIC as the core of choice, so $750+. And yes the GTRS will be way less torqy than the K04 so it's actually better for the trans.

Whatever you decide - Know everything before you start buying piece by piece so you know you final cost. Maybe call 034 or ecode see what they suggest.

I pulled on a lowered NA 240sx with wide wheels and huge exhaust on 2 consecutive 35mph S turns..we were both flooring it through the apexs. I heard him down shift to 2nd or 3rd and gunned it :D

Price you paid for each item please

Some programs require a 5bar FPR

I'm most likely going to go with the GIAC K04 tune, which requires the 5 bar FPR:

you could just buy the TIP from 034 or even if you add $250 still quite a bit cheaper than 034s kits

small piping for a small turbo... I figure with as little as the K04 is pushing out it should be adequate, at least I hope so.

2.25in would be more adequate, especially if you plan to run the aggressive file that giac offers.

Tempting, and a good price and everything, but i would avoid that kit because of this
" Note. The B5 A4 kit(Model Years 1997-2001) is only available with the ATP/Mika tuned software. "

Word on the street is that mika sucks ass

If you are piecing together a kit. I may have the software for you as well as most of the other things you might want.
K04, software, cat, downpipe, (manifold sucks but would be thrown in with turbo), 180 tt injectors, a real Bosch Motor sport 5 bar FPR, even a trans valve body and exhaust. The Racetech would have been nice, but that was the only thing I didn't have.

Now only if there was a place where people could get parts cheaper.

Revo has tuning for the 2001, for the 97-00 people can just go with all the same parts but go with Uni and 415, 440 or 630 injectors. No one should even be touching the Mika software any more. That Kit from Eurocode is now sold with 550cc injectors which they sell for $2999.

Can anyone chime in with their thoughts on upgrading to a level 10 valve body? Is this necessary? or will help prolong the life of the tranny?
