Yes, another S4 build thread; nothing new. Wider, cleaner, and faster is the goal of course. Won't be a very fast build, so stay tuned [up].

Now to the sucky shitbox:

2000 Silver/Black
6er with a frozen shift collar

Rs6/K04 Hybrids
EvolutionRaceworks Intercoolers
Everyone's best friend, Marc 10secS4 custom tune
60lb injectors and 85mm maf
GenJDM Bipipes
RS4 inlets
JHM Shifter and linkage
034 trans/motor mounts
blah, blah, blah...

Exterior is plain, boring, and silver [down]

Going to pull fenders, shave door moldings, paint, VR swap, ya know the usual...

How she looks now (warning; G1 photos):

Wheels are here and awaiting a refinish and PC:

19x8.5 2piece Rial Imola Race

JHM 4:1 diff that will be going in when trans is built:

Comments, criticism, etc welcome. Flame suit is handy if needed [>_>]

EDIT: ok, currently selling everything motor-wise and will be attempting a VR swap. Deciding on 12v or 24v is where i stand right now. I have access to a 12v already, but a 24v would be alot nicer and I could keep my A/C [>_<]

Dude, there is no way you "literally pulled all interior trim pieces in 25 minutes" unless you had everything removed from your dash or have smaller hands than a China-man and thinner arms than a bulimic coc whore! There is not room to work with when using the short-cut method and those dash clips are a bitch w/ the limited room!

That bumper will also be a PITA to fix, my old one cracked in both spots and it was hopeless, but GL w/ the DIY trim painting, finish work sucks.

Good luck with the work.
My bumper was not that bad, but i was able to fix it with flexible epoxy glue.
That glue has the characteristic to stay flexible after it dries out.
Proform makes it. http://www.proformproducts.com/en/products/detail/?id=121

lets have a contest - every1 paypal 10 bux to a 3rd party and then video tape themselves pulling trim from a car. fastest person takes the pool. put up or shut up :)

i dont think the value is anywhere near 350, this just sold for less than 350 ... and its got a minor crack: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270410776470&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

He seems to like to tune his projects and not others? aka giving you I guess his baseline file? Then never following up on the baseline file to finish your car? I am not going to speak on this subject, but have heard a lot of shitty stories with him. Not just him being a dick. So with those thoughts... I think his car isn't going to be tuned to what it could be? I could be wrong but I just don't trust that guy.

my car wont be tuned by marc...im no longer going to have the 2.7t, therefore a whole new tune is going to be needed. my custom tune is for sale along with everything else i have.

and yes kid gt, wells banana bread is amazing [up].

been outside sweating balls, finally a nice day. pulled one side molding off, pulled the ER intercoolers, attempted to pull the lower molding, but they are a bitch. got the plastic off, now theres just a long rubber strip that i cant break loose. not to mention where the molding is on the fender, it connects to the side skirt with rivets [down]

this will probably offend you but;
get a brain.
if someone gives you a baseline file that works and you cant adjust and tune settings on your own setup then you suck and should of paid for apr/vast/giac/etc, but there's a reason why he sells the tune for so cheap, hes not a company and is not obligated to help you fix your car
its not Marc's fault that he doesnt have time to provide 24/7 support to people that dont know what to do with a good basefile.
im NOT defending marc just calling it as i see it.. i could care less about marc or his '10 second' tune or w/e the fuck it is.

??? LOL what?
Sorry to offend you... But get a brain your self. You are supporting him with that comment for one if you like it or not. I am glad you support people wasting there money on a baseline file that he has no intentions on following up with. You know he is going to ignore you and leave you on your own. Like you just said...Sweet... I am sorry some of us don't have time to go into tuning of our cars and want to get what we pay for with a real tune. I don't know what you call "cheap" but I promise marc wouldn't come close to the price I have gotten for my tuning. Think before you post.

some of you guys should think before you buy a tune from a PERSON (not a business) then expect him to be your wiki on how to get YOUR car running right.
if he sold me a file that doesnt run right on my car and i can see 100 others running the file just fine id start to think; 'maybe..just maybe something's wrong with my setup. let me pull some logs'
tuning is not rocket science and if you cant take the time to read and diy, then, AGAIN you should get a brain.
like i said before and said again; i dont support marc. i do support common sense which you seem to lack.

I'm all for sharing but I could see why people wouldn't share. How many GT cars have we seen that run high 11s? how many single kits have we seen started that just fall off the face of the earth? Some people like to keep it a surprise until they have a working car. All the time and money in the world does no good if you can't get your car to run good. Some people also race for big money and don't want anyone knowing how fast their car is. I'm all for sharing though.[up]

At the moment, I still have not found the "right" 24v VR motor yet so it's currently on hold. I'm messing with the 2.7 for now, and over winter I'll locate the motor and build and collect parts so it can just be dropped in when the time comes! x2000

Used to own a honda and those guys share info like crazy. Major leaps and bounds were made. People in the audi scene are into profits, not seeing what the car is capable of (besides about 4 members). If they were really interested in the ability of the car, everyone would share the info because the more duplicates there is the more competition there is and guess what competition does. It forces companies to build a better product. If they were confident in their product I firmly beleive this would be an afterthought.

Hell I remember when Cody from lovefab taught a class on how to build collectors lol. A bunch of those people built and sold their manifolds, one-fab being an example but it didn't matter to Cody because he had a better product and was always looking to the future. Had a better manifold line-up, lots of jigs, great customer service and retention. He didn't need to rely on owning an exclusive part.

The reality is the audi/vw scene from what I've seen so far really is just disappointing....

Sorry for the thread derail Rogue, the manifold looks great. Subsrcibed, excited to see what comes out of this!

I wouldn't respray it the stock silver. Go for that Achet (sp?) Grey, or something unique and classy!
