View Full Version : Facelift headlight, new contact?

I recently bought DEPO facelift headlights.
I have the pre-facelift model of the A4, and the new housing has different connectors.

I dont want to cut my wiring in the car, so I found this adapter cable set:

But those cost around 100USD, so do anyone know the part number for the connectors?

I know the facelift female connector, its 8D0 973 734. And thats about it... [headbang]
As you can see on the image above, I need to get the part number for the old male connector (red circle).
The side indicator cable does not need to be modified.

Im a bit unsure about the blue one, my new headlight does not have that electric function, or what you call it in english.
Do I really need to use that cable from the car?
The connector in the old headlights:

My new headlights look like this on the back:

I would be really happy if you help me with this small issue. [hail]

When I did mine I took the harness out of the old one and used it for the new one. I drilled a small hole to run the wires the used alittle silicone to seal back up. It took maybe an hour from start to finish.

Thanks for your reply!

I tried to get the old contact of the housing, but I cant get it out [evilmad]
Any ideas? Cut a hole?

It should just twist and push down through the hole. I am assuming the one in the picture is not yours.

No that was mine :)
It was too tight between the house wall and the reflector to get the whole thing out.
Cut a hole to get it out.

The new light has 2x H7 bulbs. Do you remember which cable on the old wire that was High-Beam on the H4 connector?
You can choose from yellow and white :D

This is low beam

This is high beam

I ended up removing the pins one by one and running them through the hole I drilled. the connector for the facelight wiring thats there when I was done I ziptied it tight then tucked it inside the housing. The turn signal I used the old bulb and holder. It fits fine in the new housing.I also used my pre-facelift bulbs. Good luck.
