I am looking for a new set of tires and came across a couple really cheep tires. I can get 4 tires shipped for around $300. They are going on my gf's car. I don't need anything super high performance, just something that she can get around on. Also the tires are for a set of summer wheels so they do not need to be all season tires. We have good snow tires on her stock wheels. Here is a couple links to tires I found...

Any tire experts your help would be appreciated. Like I said, the tires are for my girlfriends bmw. She wont be doing any racing or anything like that. Let me know what you think!

Never heard of these. There are several models of Falken, Kumho, Sumitomo, etc. that have gotten good reviews and ratings. I'd try to get the local shops to match the best online prices or order online from a reputable retailer like TR if they don't.

You'd pay perhaps $120 more but divided over 30K+ miles or 3+ years, that's just a few cents per day. Tires are probably the most important choice or purcase you'll make for yourself and your vehicles, so I'd think about the cost/benefit a little more.

I got 4 235/45HR17 Nankang on my Avant right now and have had no problems as of yet but just got them a few weeks ago. Drove from NY to New Orleans on them. Got them for 289.74 shipped from http://www.tiresavings.com/ I got them since I don't plan on keeping the stock wheels on for to long.

After selling tires for as long as I did no offense but statements like the one you made above boggle my mind. First off you are buying tires for your girlfriend? I do not know about you but she would be the one person I would do my best at keeping safe. There is no reason to be getting "cheap" tires for her car which I am assuming is an Audi? First thing I would want to know is what they are going on. Secondly even if they are just summer tires water can be your biggest enemy if you do not have a proper tire. These are going to be ultra stiff(notice the W speed rating and XL capacity) and because they are"cheap" a hard tire compound most likely making them most likely terrible in the rain. I would seriously reconsider a reputable brand tire for the ones you love. I does not have to be the best and most expensive(I got my BF Goodrich G-Force A/S for 125 shipped). And seriously if it is an Audi why would you put crap on it? These are supposed to be luxury vehicles?

Edit: I am a dummy and couldn't get past the first two statements I failed to see that is for her BMW.....still the same things apply except it is more of a performance driven vehicle than our Audi's in most cases.....
