What a morning!

The hood has been slightly cracked since spring but it has gotten worse. I should be able to fix it but don't want to bother with it now. I'll post up pics later on.

The bitch is that I was up all night and drove to the store at 8 am only to find it closed. As I was driving all over the place the leaky HFC "tick" suddenly sounded like an open exhaust. The cat flange separated completely. Looks like I have to post-pone my nap to install my old gutted stock cat. Then have the kids from 6-9 then a bike race at 11 and all the drinking beforehand... this is going to be a long ass day.

yup labree will warrant it... i have the cat break at the weld where it meets the pipe. I called them up and they took down my info and sent me out a new one. Then i returned my damaged one and they refunded my shipping cost. They definitely back their products.

The old gutted cat is back in and the car sounds great again. The really strange thing is that my HFC gutted itself. There is no evidence of a catalyst honeycomb at all. Guess I better pull the back half of the exhaust off later this week and see what falls out when I turn it on end and shake it.

Two weeks after our seventh anniversary last August she decided she didn't want to play grown up anymore. Overnight she was an entirely different person. Turns out my formerly extraordinary wife is a selfish child with a whole separate second life in Chicago. Been dealing with divorce attorneys, paperwork, motions, and hearings since November. I spent 5 months alone before going off the leash, so to speak.

I've still got my ex Sarah living two blocks away too. She is excellent company.

I see, sorry to hear.

Well at least now we might finally see a big turbo out of you... if the divorce doesn't rape you too badly that is.

The bumptard. Backed out of a snowy driveway at 8 deg F and the ice berm left by the plow caught the lower and ripped it apart. It was well borked and in several pieces. The passenger side was completely gone from the headlight washer out. Since Christmas it has been just the plastic over the bumper beam and part of the driver's side. I just wanted to see if this big 3D puzzle could go back together.

Plastic Fusion epoxy and lots of tape for the first round. After a proper cleaning, of course. Then sanding, reinforcing the inside with a few layers of fiberglass, grooving out the joints and filling them with thin layers of Bondo, and then sanding and shaping. The hole is about the size of a softball and has a fiberglass patch from the rear and several thin layers of Bondo to build out the shape. It still needs another layer or two before getting to the guide coat stage. It had several other problem areas like where a quad butted cromo hardtail fell from the rafters and bashed the top of the bumper.

For those that don't know how much of a mid-engined car a Cobra is, that Accusump is on top of the front axle line. The clutch is above the knee and the driveshaft is only a foot long including the u-joints. Just the driveshaft tube without the joints is about 6 or 7 inches.

And yes, those are cnc billet jack stands that slide apart and bolt together flat. The set of four is about the size of the box that workboots come in. They would easily fit in a small backpack and two would fit in my briefcase.

I tried to fix my s4 bumper with fiberglass, it gets fucked up annually. I fixed some cracks with Fusor and they are solid. The ones I patched with fiberglass are shit.

The fiberglass is just on the back to reinforce the bonded areas. With the surface prep and everything, it isn't going anywhere. I've had more than a dozen Corvettes and most needed some repair and this is how I did all of them.

If it breaks I'll either fix or replace it. I didn't feel like dropping the cash for a new one and spending 30 bucks to play with tools is how I roll. I thought about making a full mold for it and then tweaking it more like the new A4 with the little fairing/splitter things but I'd rather have a bumper on my car again sooner that later.

She is a full on hottie with a perfect body and all that but the first one (the asian) is ridiculously beautiful in person. That is an awful picture. She is simply stunning. And a kindergarten teacher. Hard to find a girl that hot that is a total sweetheart too. Actually, all three are sweeties but Jen is my fave. Brit is leaving Friday for some modeling gigs in London so that fling is a goner.

If you paint it then it will look like a painted hood, not carbon fiber.

some ppl like the looks of carbon fiber and some dont...but who cares if it looks painted? the whole purpose is to reduce weight...like i said b4,do you have any for sale?

500 plus a black hood.

If you want a weight advantage then relocate the battery to the rear. Pulls way more weight off the front than a carbon hood and is dirt cheap by comparison.
