sorry? there aren't any newer dyno results. what i've been told is to pick the shop that is the closest to you and go with that.

yup differences are minimal from what I hear, go with who you can drive to easiest... oh and btw you reeeealllly need to consider even scrolling down the page... maybe venturing to page 2...or even the search button...[rolleyes]

Best for the price and best numbers actually are EPL (European Performance Labs) and ASP (AutoSpeed Performance). Most known and more expensive are GIAC and APR. Revo and Unitronic are others that are cheaper and more custom tune friendly.

I can only speak from experience but:
I bought an APR chip and APR exhaust.....and the car is now pretty quick. In 2nd gear at about 2800 rpm, it pushes you into your seat....the torque is pretty good.
Remember, as with any chipping, your DV will fail over time. When that happens you can go aftermarket or get the new OEM piston-type DV for about $80.

USA is absolutely awful. Brazil played pretty poor and still destroyed us. We were lucky it was only 3-0.

Compared to FHM, DM and even EuroTuning. APR is just outdated and their company is just awful. I was one of the fanboys at first, I happen to live 20 minutes from their headquarters in Opelika Alabama. I opened my eyes when they showed me their true colors. So yes I am biased against them.

Yes they are outdated, and underpowered but they are also consistent and reliable, and that's more than you can say for a lot of these garage tuners

There's absolutely no reason anyone should buy an off the shelf tune ever again from anyone other than JHM. Their tuning is hands down the safest, best, most powerful, most reliable tuning on the market today.

I think the same thing especially in regards to small garage tuners, but people still throw money at scam artists

This is a very wide open question, but I guess I can give you my thoughts.
For a one off tune I would contact Rarak at dotuning, he is probably in the top 5 of the most knowledgable MED9 tuners in the world. Yup, I said in the world. Or you can see if you can get one of the Greek shops to remote flash you. 99% chance they won't, but those guys have been years ahead of us stateside people in the Motronic system for about as long as Motronic has existed, and it would be nice to get them over here. Actually, I think some stateside shops are already paying them to help, which is a great thing.
For off the shelf, JHM looks to be the front runner. APR is a good choice actually, but they are nothing special and I don't like the way they present themselves, so I would not support them. Maestro is also actually a great thing if you are a car hacker like a lot of us and want to learn what is under the hood. Or you can do like MEC and I and start hitting WinOLS. If you have an ECU where a mappack is available, it is about as easy as Maestro but more powerful.

The JHM tuning for our cars has only been out for a short while and it is still being refined. So I don't think it is fair to say this yet. But they are a great shop and run an honest business, so I have no issues recommending them for anything.

I thought Rarak didn't do much tuning? I spoke with him a few times and he said he loves coding, Anti lag, NLS, all those little gadgets, but he said he wasn't huge into tuning.
If he is doing a lot of tuning I would definitely get in touch with him, He is a great guy and knows his stuff.

At least on the VW side, it seems like dotuning is doing a decent amount of tuning. Not sure exactly where Rarak fits in though.
