He everyone,

I have about 130,000 miles on my 2002 3.0 Quattro. I recently developed a vibration. The vibration is noticable at idol and is felt throughout the car. The vibration is also there when driving. The engine idols and runs fine. Trans is also difficult to shift gears at times, especially 1st into 2nd. I have replaced the engine, thrust and trans mounts with no change in the vibration. I do not get a CEL.

I am at a loss at this point, I don't know where to go from here. Anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks,
Donald

Sounds like some sort of mount, and it's causing your transmission linkage to bind.

Do check your engine mounts; in particular, check the state of the "snub mount", which is located under the radiator. A failed/worn-out snub mount can produce the vibration and drive-line lash that you've been observing. APR and ECS both offer excellent high-performance replacement snub mounts (http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B6_A4-Quattro-V6_30v/Engine/Mounts/). APR has a how-to snub-mount replacement guide in PDF (http://www.goapr.com/Audi/support/b6_snub_mount.pdf).
