been a rumor for maybe 5 or 6 months.

And you linked to the forum, not the post itself

the recall will pertain to A4's as well as A6's, but replacement is authorized only within Audi's perameters for the recall; ie: squeaking is not covered, but if excessive wear is found on the bushings, they may be replaced.

Be sure to have service and maint records though!

Well, you're getting the shaft eitherway aren't you?

They won't fixing squeaking (which is the bushings in the lower arms). They will replace the bushings if advanced wear is present (yippee new rubber bushings! What about the ball joints that flop around?).

What a joke of a "recall".

i just called AoA, gave them my VIN and she said that my car (99 A4 1.8T) is part of the JE inspection recall. They need to inspect the control arms and will repair any damage. I don't know what this entails. If you're eligible for the recall and registered with AoA, you should be receiving the letter soon.

had the Je recall notice on our A6 and they did not replace or repair anything because there was no "excessive" wear...only squeaking!!
