Since I recently went with the APR software during the sale, I thought it might be a good idea to replace the stock TBB. I have no idea what options I have for aftermarket. I just know that the stock TBB is a bit weak and prone to tears. Would appreciate some guidance.

i run the 034 TBB. it's five ply silicon, and fits just like the stock one. you can re-use your engine covers unlike some of those cheep ebay ones.

lots of people run the samco one but, i've heard that fitment can be a little off on some of them.

Sorry for my ignorance, but was is the 034 TBB? Who makes it? Also if you don't mind saying approximately what you paid, that would be great. Thanks for the suggestion.

The samco TBB from ecstuning works just fine for me.

034 Tuning in the manufacturer. I currently have the Samco one, and...It's fine...My covers don't fit thought... Most of the silicone ones are about $50.

Then you can go with the APR Bi-Pipe which is all hard stuff...But it's a lot more expensive. Up to you.

So I placed my order on the 26th, and have not gotten the TBB. So I check the site so I can check the status of my order. I logged into my account and it shows no orders placed. I checked my statement and I was charged, it shows on the 28th. It is now the 8th, and still nothing. I emailed them a few days ago and did not get a reply. I just called when I got home from work and got a voicemail. Is this a legit place? I'm really getting a bit ticked here.

Goood luck on the order OP

I got the samco one. Haven't install yet. But nothing a little engine oil can't solve for a tight fit

Jason and the guys at JHM are great to deal with. This sounds really unusual... [confused]

I know they are really busy over there, but I can vouch for the guy. He almost always ships stuff same-day. [up]

Are you sure the order did go through, and the card didn't just have a hold on it from an attempted authorization?

Either way, just contact Jason directly, and I'm sure he will get everything sorted out for you!

I would back charge them and make them eat the fee. Screw that and get it some where else. Even if they get it to you I would request a discount in the poor service. Either that or tell them don't bother sending it out, I would like my money.

I went with them because of the recommendation that they are great to deal with. I still have not heard back. The order went through on my debit, not credit card. Statement shows that the TBB was paid for. Funds definitely transferred. If they do not next day it at their expense then I definitely will want a full refund.

For real.. lol how do they run your shit through and just not send it out or get back to you? Have you been trying to call or email? Calling is the best with some of these guys.

Called. Everytime I call the message says they are either with a customer or something like that and they will call back. I haven't gotten a single call or email back.

Here is the same response I sent you via email.

Sorry about the issue. I looked at your account in our store and see no orders from you. You must have not clicked next one last time or your internet browser had a problem. If this occurs the money will get put in our merchant account but the order won’t pop up on our end in the store. I bet if you logon and look in your shopping cart the part is still there. Our sales volume is pretty high lately and I usually catch these kinds of things, but I must have missed this extra transaction without an order attached to it. First time I missed one actually. We almost always ship the same day and this would have shipped immediately.

Since we have your money already just let me know what color TBB and I will ship it on Monday.

I currently work 14 hours a day to try to keep up with emails and phone calls and we have more help coming on board in June.

Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience.

Back on topic.

We sell the 034 TBB vs. the Samco because it is a thicker more durable silicone, fits great and the price is right. The problem with the Samco is that it is thinner than stock where the clamps go, so you can't use your original factory hose clamps. You need to get new clamps.

As promised we shipped it out via Next Day air on us due to our mistake and mix up.

Thanks.

I wish I had known about the 034 TBB...I just bought an APR bipipe in what was a somewhat disastrous Craigslist buy. I've shied away from the Samco tbb bc of fitment, so nice to know 034 remedied the issue.

As for JHM, they are a stand up company. I posted the following in the B6/B7 forum thread about their B6 getting on the verge of 12s. I repeat it here simply because some of you may not know the history:

"For those that may not be familiar with this shop, its owner was actually an "old-school/o.g." Audizine member and has now gone onto to be a premier (IMHO) Audi aftermarket shop who R&D's and fabricates many of its own products, and despite the continuous growth still focus on customer support. The shop has really helped the B5 S4 community, so it's great to see they're sharing some of their wizardry and know-how with the B5's younger siblings."

It speaks scores when the principal of a company gets on the phone and stays on to help an enthusiast try to fix an issue. In my case, I needed a resurfaced flywheel asap last year. Unfortunately, Jay had run out, but he spent a good 10 mins with me (and a few email exchanges) trying to help me out even though I was not going to be able to buy from him at that time. Also, for us 2.7T guys...there's a RS6 kit in the works [evilsmile]

I was going to post that as well but I was to late before he got one on the thread. It is a kind of a bitch when it is 85+ out but what doesn't get hot in the engine bay. When it is 80 the bipipe gets warm and when it is 60 or below it stays chilly :). Zero problems to date knock on wood.
