Get your belt done right away. Plus all of the extras that go with a timing belt change. Trying during a search on this forum and you'll find plenty of info.

Might be worth your while to have the gaskets and the valves looked at. The engine mounts in Audis are liquid filled and tend to 'go flat', which can cause some issues.

Run you $2k to get it all done (if you need gasket / vavle leaks), but the engine should be good for another 100K at that point.

Is that 100k kilometers or miles. If its kilometers how many miles is that?

1999 Audi A4 My first car was a 1980 Eagle Sport Coupe! I loved it. It's the only car better in the snow than my a4/s4! I was looking for one a while ago to use as a beater/second car.

Definately replace all the belts especially timing belt and tensioner. You should replace the waterpump as well. And just check for any oil leaks as well and get them fixed up if there are any. $2000 maybe if you have a ton of oil leaks.

I am still running my original water pump and my car makes a little bit louder ticking sound than it did when i got it at 65K but that tends to be normal as the hydralic lifters get older. I would just check to make sure you don't have an oil sludge issue that is restricting maximum flow of oil back to the top of the engine which can aid in causeing that noise...and if you are unsure when the timeing belt was done last I would listen to these guys and do that real quick like, just my 2 cents.

nice of you to give it away =D .... id give mine away too if i could afford a G35. Such a slick car, i was planning on selling my A4 to get one but it would break the bank too much. Very nice car btw i saw it in your other thread.

100 Kilometers is like 60Kmiles.

The timing belt is recommended to be changed at 100K miles, at the same time do the water pump to avoid maintenance later.

went to the dealership today .... 1200 CDN ... not that bad i guess. thats for the belt and waterpump. looks like my wheel will have to wait even longer. Seems like everytime i save up for a mod the car some how manages to mess up somewhere
