View Full Version : Camber bolt replacement?

So I went to get an alignment yesterday. The front went fine, but they said that they can't align the back and that the camber bolts need to be replaced. I didn't know that they went bad??? Are these guys full of sh*t or what.

p.s. They were using a hunter machine.

I don't think you can change the camber on the stock CA's.

edit: Can you even aligh the rear???

Yes, you can. The "camber bolts" have an eccentric (off center) washer attached to the bolt head. Changing the rotation angle of the bolt will move the control arm inboard or outboard, thereby altering the camber...

the only reasons ive seen to need to replace these bols is if there sized and wont turn or if there bent from hitting something

I had a different shop take a look at them. They put the car on the lift and showed be the bolts. They were pretty rusty and the guy was afraid that if he started cranking on them they might break. So new bolts it is...
