Chipped my car today, and was boosting down a street, all of a sudden a loud pop, and sputter sputter. pulled over, turned engine off.

the hose that connects the throttle body inlet and intercooler together popped off, likely due to bad hose clamp, or too much pressure.

was any damage done? i fixed it and its boosting fine and i seem to be idling at a lower rpm, maybe 50 less rpms.

I wouldn't think so. I've heard of this happening several times, but never happened to me. Hopefully, someone will post that has experienced this...

i just got an audi so i'm new to audis....but with my experience w/ turbo'd honda/acura's...you'll be fine. no biggie, just get better hose clamps and call it a day, just my advice from a honda/acura perspective, it should fall under audi's as well.

you will be fine, I have had this happen on my older S4 and a turbo'ed Neon, it is scary you lose all boost and are creeping at a naturally aspirated speed. just clamp the hose back on and go, you will be fine.

the fancy audi hoseclamps are cool.. but after taking them off and on a few times suck a$$ and don't work/tighten properly anymore. Either get a new one - or a regular one..yes they are ugly - but they always work - even 10 years later.

Idle will back to normal after 2 days. Just read a paper from GIAC indicated that.
