I am about to change my timing belt, long overdue, with 133k on it, i also have new cover gasket and cam tensioner seal, both leaking, my question is, when the fan goes on (heat,AC, etc) my voltage drops from 15 down to 11 or 12, should i also change the alternator or can something else be causing this? I have a new battery so that should be out, it never dropped before last summer i noticed it with the ac on, could the belts be slipping? I dont want to do the timing belt and then have to do it all over just to get at the alternator.

I believe that's the serpentine belt driving the AC, but I'm not positive. All the belts and tensioners are better off being replaced at once.
