What size filter/piping do you recommend for an APR stage 3 kit? The TIP is the same size of the mass which is what 3"?? I am eventually going to be running a 3071 or 3076 so if the piping could work for that setup, even better......

Only reason I want to get rid of the airbox is because it is such a pain in the ass to take in and out. I am not trying to get gains here, just want to get rid of that annoying airbox.

thanks

the stock MAF is 2.75" i believe. though if you are going to be running something like a GT30r in the future, most of the software for the gt30-x turbos requires larger MAF housings so you will have to switch it out later anyways.

Stock MAF is 2.75". I do not know what the inlet size is for the compressor on the GT28R, but this may work perfect for the TIP. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=256656

The intake should be rather easy. Get a 2.75" U bend pipe from here http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CXR&Product_Code=PIP275-U-J&Category_Code=PIP275 (or check out any hardware store, even Autozone but make sure it is mandrel bend), cut it down a little on one side (I don't know what type of welding would needed to be done afterwards to smoothe the edges for an uninterupted air flow), permit 2-3 inches before the bend, attach maybe an AEM 2.75" filter http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-AEM-21-202DK-DRYFLOW-DRY-FLOW-AIR-FILTER-2-75-X-5_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7 c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1 Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem22 0285910813QQitemZ220285910813QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fT ruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories , clamps, and make some kind of bracket (get creative) to support it.

When you go GT30xx, your intake will have to be redone. But someone will more than likely purchase it if you place it in the classifieds.

TIP: $180
U Bend: $17
AEM filter (don't cheap out on good filter): $50
Clamps: $??
Bracket for intake: $??

Oh, don't forget a heat shield [up]

thanks Seerlah. Just wanted to see if there was standard parts that people were using to make one. I just need to figure out where to get some silicon connectors for the maf to the intake piping.

I agree i will probably need to make a separate CAI for the GT30 but I could always sell this when the time comes. Thanks for the help guys. I will post pics once the engine is installed in the car...

No problem. http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_nkwZ2Q2e75Q22Q20couplerQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZR40 QQ_mdoZ Most local autostores should carry couplers, I just don't know if they would carry the size you would need in stock.
