View Full Version : Sticky buttons

On the dash, the 3 buttons that determine which vents air comes out of (up top, straight out, and to your feet) are stuck. The button for the floor is managable, but the other 2 will not budge. If they manage to move, they get stuck in the on position, and I can't turn the air off. Driving in 45 degree temperature with the heater blasting 78 degrees for an hour car ride is not fun.

Is there any way to fix these without having to remove that panel from the dash?

Damn, I have the same problem. Though it was from the custom deck install. Nice to know!

I experience the same exact thing! Thought I was just stuck, and looked in to getting a new unit but I'm gonna try the alcohol if not the teflon based spray.

I had to take out the HVAC and use electronics cleaner. That helped A LITTLE. But when it was cold it would get sticky again. COuldn't get rid of it completely.

In the end I got sick of it and I had the dealer switch it out for me since I got the car certified and it was like that from day one. I believe HVACs are in the $200-$300 range.
