I have 17x8 wheels, offset 35mm.

I don't want to get 225's again, because these wheels are too wide for them and they stretch. I don't really want to run 235/40's either since there will be a lot less sidewall. 255/40/17 would be prefect, but I doubt that would clear, and they are probably too wide for 8" wheels.

Has anyone run 245/40/17 on a similar setup?

B5 owner/AZ member, biketsai, runs 245/40/18 on this rs4 reps. offset +35 and doesn't rub. What's the offset of your wheels?

haha i run 245/45/17 tires.. only the back rubbed and i put the smallest spacers i could find on the back only. the front doesn't have any noticeable problems.
so ya 245/40/17 should fit fine.
