In cold starts, or after my car has been sitting around for a couple hours, when the revs go above about 3500 rpm my car makes a honking sound. It kinda sounds like a whine and not so much a faulty BPV honk. When I start the car, i usually let it rev above 3500 a couple times and the noise goes away to avoid embarassment... I can't seem to pinpoint the sound but I don't think its a boost leak since it goes away...

I also have a couple eletrical problems (short to grounds) I'm wondering if it could be related... any input would be a great help!

stop hitting the horn when you rev your car up to 3500

Kind of sounds like the BPV is leaking...Good call with the boost gauge.
