OK.. I'm second owner of my 2001... with 70,000 on it. I have heard that some things are covered up to 80K, 100K or what not... by audi. Does this include 2nd owner cars bought used?

Am I entitled to warranties at all? How does the whole warranty thing work anyways.. would come in handy..for instance if my cat becomes separated at the flange like seems to be common at one point... etc...

What do I need to do to be eligible?

and time to waste if they deny your claim.

if the car brakes before 80k they will replace it........

if you get the oil sludge problem (low oil press warning)...they will replace the motor/turbo if you can provide proof of previous oil changer.........the warrantee is extended to 150k mles for the 1.8T

depends on several things. Is your vehicle Audi assured? If it is, you have a 2 year, 100k warranty that is pretty much like the original factory warranty in that it cover just about everything except wear and tear. Now even if it's not, you al least have the emmissions warranty till 80k, which wil cover your cat basically. Besides that you're on your own.

no warranty... it's out of warranty from Audi.
but it was initially 3/50 bumper to bumper and maintenance.

the best thing to do is call AoA and give them the VIN. i bought my car from a wholsesaler, so i just assumed it was not audi assured. on a hunch, i called AoA, gave them the VIN and they said that it had been Audi Certified at one point and I could transfer the warranty for $150. So now I have a one year warranty for very little money. and i have to pay a $50 deductible for any service.
