So after having my car for two years I have run into my first (read: only so far) major malfunction. I have seperated my cat. converter from something. It's still connected to the turbo, and my car is way too low for me to get underneath to check any other places. Taking it to my local indy shop tomorrow to get it up on a lift to check out what happened. It was completely random though, pulled up to the stoplight everything was fine, pulled away (normally) and it had seperated somewhere [confused].

I am really hoping that the flange broke off the converter, thus giving me a reason to purchase a high-flow cat [:D].

It's so embarrassing to drive my car sounding the way it is now...

Very comon problem. Most fix by just getting it rewelded, or getting the high flow cat that yu mentioned.

Mine broke on me too. Welcome to the club. The noise is loud, but its still quieter than any ricer. [;)] Embarrasing i was at first, but suprisingly quiet at hw cruising speeds. [:D]

I thought that had happened to me, but my PCV Valve had lost a bolt and it was leaking like crazy - sounded absolutely terrible!

Sorry for the delay in a follow-up, had a hard drive fail on me, had to reinstall everything.

Roughly 40K, more or less.

I am looking into the Random Technology cat. I'd get a test pipe, but I don't want the CEL, or the risk or a ticket.
