I'm looking to get some front speaker adapters. It's to fit a 5.25" speaker in the front door. Found this site:

Acoustic Dimension Site (http://www.acousticdimension.com)

They make a bunch of different adapters - anyone ever deal with them before?

I don't think I'm gonna find the MBQuart's ones, seeing as how people are saying that they are discontinued.

bah - just make some

I am thinking of making a mold so I can reproduce these in hardened resin. Any interest?

I received a quote from the company that makes these adapters:

20 EURO + 18 for shipping.

Does anyone know of somewhere in North America that makes these - or where to get them here?

I don't have much in the area of wood working tools, so I'm not sure about making my own adapters.

I've looked a bunch of times but, the fact is that MB Quart was the ony company that was making the adapters in the US. I called to order a pair in '02 and they wanted $50 for them!! What a load of crap.

The funny thing is that you said they were 20 Eur + 18 for shipping.

38.00 EUR = 49.4409 USD[rolleyes]

This is the cheapest place I ever found for them: http://www.raysmith.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=50_61&products_id=653

10 GBP = $18 US. I'm not sure how much shipping will be but, even if it's as much as the rings, that still $36. Still $14 cheaper than the other place.

Daft...do those adapters let you use 5.25" speakers instead of 4"?

Yes they do. They are 130mm adapters. 130mm = 5.25"

The inner portion of the ring is for the stock mounting location. The outter rim is what the 5.25" speaker bolts onto.
