Ok so first off i live in oregon so we have to pay people to spill gas on on the side of my car. but any way every time i go to fill up my tank the damb thing stops, it keeps shuting off as like it does when the tank is full. this is becoming a pain in the ass as it can take 20 min to fill my tank. i have tried gas additives but doesnt work. i run 92 octane if that matters. i need help i called audi and they dont know i havnt had a chance to take it in i am hoping one of you smart people can help me. thanks for the time sorry the post is so long [:)]

Waaaaaaaay in there. If the guy dont know how it is done, just go do it yourself. I go back sometime to visit my parents and it occurs sometime and i just get out of the car and fill the tank myself

I have the same problem I just pull the nozzle out half way but you have to be carefull becuse if you pull too far out the little flap will close and the gas will spray back

but if there is a better way please tell me

the problem is that if i stick it all the way in and turn it on all the way it shuts off so i have to stick it in half way (the nozzle) and put it on the slowest setting and it will still shut off so it is a lengthy process to fill my tank

lift the nozzle.... it may be laying too low.

i've never had a problem but the past few weeks the guys have been having trouble filling my tank. It has never happened before but now it happens 2-3 times a fill up. Any ideas as i can't pump my own gas

Its tricky, sometimes you can't fill at the fastest setting, just have to keep it a little slower. Think this may be a result of the anti syphon dealio in there.

When it comes to them filling up my car since I live in jersey (I wish I could do it myself)....I hate it when they take the cap off and just drop it on your car

When you stop to get gas do you hear air being sucked in when you start to open the gas cap? If so, you might have a venting problem. That would also hamper your fill up. Good luck!

Try turning the nozzle one way and then to the other. I did this a couple times and it seemed to be effective. You might have to hold it sideways, but thats better than the alternative it sounds like.

try putting the nozzle in upside down (with the hose facing up) thats worked for me.

and for some real help....
it may be ur charcoal filter under the rear of the car. Mine when bad and i was only able to fill .5-1 gallon at a time before the pump stops and i would have to pull the nozzle out and put it back in.

mine does the same thing, its something wrong with ours that vents the tank, like the charcoal filter, i have to pull mine out all the way so it just touches the flap and go real slow. older gas stations that have smaller nozzles and lower psi pumps work with no probs, i still need to figure mine out, anyone know where the charcoal filter is located at?
