Seeing how the good weather is coming back, I know people are getting ready to get to work on thier Audis [wrench]. And fluid changes is a must. I will be changing my transmission oil when I do the motor oil and was wonder if this ebay tool will suffice (call me a cheapo if you want).

I know it (the ebay tool) will "drain" the transmission oil, but what about the refill plug? If it can not get the refill plug off, I will just order this one:

Thanks in advance!

The refill plug is a plain 17mm allen. No need to spend any large chunk of change on that.

I bought the Schwaben drain plug tool, but that's just because I was using it on the job. If you're only ever doing yours, or maybe a buddy's, that one will work just fine.

I think I spent $7 on the 1/2" drive 17mm Allen socket from AutoZone(I was already there). Now I have a big beefy one, but that's because it's needed other places on the car.

EDIT: There's a possibility it's a 14mm Allen not a 17mm, I may be confused.

I think I may have the allen socket (if not, Autozone special will be on course) for the refill plug then. I am about to go ahead and order the ebay drain plug tool. Thanks!

what was the verdict on this? what were the sizes on the drain and fill plugs?

The fill is a 17mm allen, the drain is a 12 point tamper resistant. And remember, always loosen your fill plug before your drain plug, just in case.
