So, I decided to do the ziza city lights (after awaiting the long back order), clear my corner and replace with Hoen cromium 1156 bulbs and ziza yellow H 11 fogs and clear side markers from ECS. Did all the searching first and printed out all of the instructions on all the DIY's on here and the FAQ. Here is what it looked like before:

So, I must say the city lights are a total pain in the ass. [headbang]

I put them in and tested both of them and invariably the passenger side one would come on and then flicker off. Then I would switch them and the same thing would happen. Then I would try turning the car on vs. just having the switch on and that produced different results. Finally, after some manipulation I got them both to work under both conditions:

I put them in after finishing the clear corner mod (damn those corners are made of super plastic), which I ended up using a dremel to cut into the corner lense because I could not get them to pop out as described in the DIY). That was definitely the hardest part[down]. I also swapped out the fogs for the ziza yellow H11 and clear sidemarkers from ECS. Final result looks like this:

Now my problem is once I put the city light into headlight assembly with the single wrap of electrical tape around them and put the bumber back on, the city right on the passenger side will only periodically work. I remember someone mentioning this problem in the city light thread but a solution was never found, I quess the problem just worked itself out...Any ideas would be appreciated??? I am going to drive for a few days and see if a pattern develops, I am wondering if this is a ghost issue with the resistor since the city lights are part on the 09 module (i.e. the lights required to drive at night)?

Second question is I am not happy at all with th 1156 hoen cromium bulbs I ordered. The look orangish even when not lit:

Any suggestions on what brand to go with that will appear silver unless lit, hence the whole reason for the clear corner mod in the first place?[=(]

I also ordered the hoen W5w city light bulbs as a backup to the ziza, has anyone tried these and have they caused any bulb out warnings? I imagine they would, but I haven't tried them.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion, the fucked up thing is they didn't look amber before I put them in the housing, the tip looked chrome and the lower portion of the bulb looked amber. Now I gotta take the bumber off again[headbang]

i used to have the hoen w5w city light bulbs. they are incandescent bulbs, so they wont give you an error. unfortunately, there were reports from various members saying that they were melting the headlight housing. so i swapped them out. lucky for me, i was able to get in on the buttafuoco led lights, and haven't looked back!

Thanks for the input everyone, I just ordered the autoillumination bulbs and a 25ohm load equalizer to fix my bulb warning light in my led license plate. For some reason both city lights have been working all day??? WTF?
