I'm new to mods and this would be my first,I'm gonna get a used h&R spring aout 1.5 drop. Do I need anything else, like coilovers or alignment checks or anything like that? Also, will it void my dealer warranty?
You could upgrade your shocks while you or your mechanic are down there. IF not, the life span of your stock shocks will be shorter. Yes, should something go wrong, it will effect your warranty. [:(]

do you have oem sports suspension or standard? If you have the oem sport suspension (red shocks) you might be ok for a while. Otherwise, go find yourself a set of shocks (used if you wanna save money). Bilstein or Koni would be a place to start.

How much will that cost? How much shorter will my stock shocks life be?

when my xeonons started to dip, my stealerships original refusal was because of my lowering springs. eventually i got them to do it after offering to leave my car for a couple of days.

there are a ton of threads on this, search around some. Shocks are more expensive than springs, probably $400 or so. You can ride on your stock shocks for a little while then either one will blow out or your car will bounce like a dump truck, and you will be forced to replace your shocks. The advantage of installing shocks and springs all at once is that you have to remove the shocks to replace the springs anyway, so it cost just as much to install shocks and springs as just springs alone...

If you want your car to ride like azz then put lowered springs on your car with stock shocks. Do it right and buy the springs and dampers (koni or bilstien) together. Do it right or don't do it at all...you will regret it.

Thanks Guys for feedback, I decided to pass on it. I'm deciding instead to re-tint car darker, and put this honeycomb grill I saw on one of the sites on here that costs $200 and get APR chip done.

Don't do it, I'm running the H & R sport springs with stock shocks and the ride is terrible, handling is meh. Overall not impressed.
Going to go with a coilover set up in a month or so, probably Stasis Street Sport.

Correct... non-sport suspension, H & R sport springs with non-sport shocks = bad ride

I have had that setup plus rs4 sway bar for about 20k and the handling is much better but bouncy. Will be replacing with stasis coilovers tomorrow[wrench]

Any comments from somebody who have sport suspension + H&R sport springs? Is it bouncy too?

Come to think of if I've also got the rs4 rear sway... completely forgot about that.
"Bouncy" is a polite way of putting it.
What kind of Stasis coilovers are you putting on?

Mezzer, before you go straight to coilovers, check out the Touring suspension from Stasis - it's a shock/spring combo that's a bit cheaper but performs every bit as well as the Street Sport coilovers (so I've heard from Stasis guys). It's a Koni shock and Koni spring combo, I have it and absolutely love the smooth ride, yet extremely solid handling that's a VAST improvement over stock in both aspects.
This is, of course, assuming you don't NEED the height adjustability for either track purposes or really picky aesthetic preference. [;)]

I've looked at both and I want the adjustability. I'm looking for a certain ride height, not so much for the track.

I'm running the stock sport (red) dampeners with HR sports
It's great!....stiff but not too bumpy! It's a lowered car so you'll def. feel the road...
btw the search button will yield this same topic a gazillion times

I have h&r's and sport suspension, overall it is a smooth ride, handling has improved as well, I plan to upgrade the shocks in the future but for now its not bad at all and the drop is perfect! over hard dips or uneven road u can feel is kind of mushy though and a little bouncy
