perhaps if you asked this question in the tire forum, someone from tire rack could give you an educated opinion?

I had Toyo Proxies FZ4s, which are a high performance, all season tire. I thought they were fantastic in the snow, and still had great dry traction. Though not as good as the T1-S. But I was VERY happy with the snow traction. Unless you want JUST snow tires.

Sal how much are you looking to spend? You can get a good set of all season tires that will be fine for less then just snow tires.

Alpins. No other tire even comes close. Here in Montreal we get more snow and freezing rain than anyone else and those are the only tires that I would ever use.

Allseason tires are a choice only if you live in an area whereas there is very little snow, otherwise they can be dangerous. Road & Track did a comparison of a FWD car with winter tires and an AWD with all-seasons (it was an Audi A4 Quattro) and the Audi was embarassed both on the street and the track....
