have you ever rode on a 35 series tire? cool you might have, have you ever rode on a QUALITY 35 series tire? i bet not.

they ride normal as hell.. it depends how much of a cheap fuck you are on tires. for a cheap tire, the generals ride the best.. after that, you need to spend 200+ for a good ride.

i've rode on many tires.. and most of them being 35 or 25 series.. i know they can ride just fine with a good suspension and good tire.. no reason in trying to act like a dick to look cool and no reason for ppl who dont have experience or has little, to say something that isnt true.

io have 19's for over a yeat and just bought a nother set, i have bilstein shocks and springs, ya the ride isnt as smooth as stock tires and rims, but it is not nearly as horrible people are making it sound! get a nice set of 235/35/19 tires and youll be fine and the 19's give your car a totally different look than any 18 could

I have been riding on 19's day one since I got my Audi and over 4 years later, it is still one of the best handling and riding cars I have owned and I have owned a few that were all lowered the right way. I also used my car as a daily driver logging over 50 miles in one direction so I have a little experience in this field.

First and foremost don't let any one person tell you how good or bad 19's are as it is a matter of taste. Second, do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions as this will give you the most feedback since there are so many different ways to set up your suspension and this will play a major roll in the overall quality of your set-up.

The best advise I could give you is to find local shops and people that have set-ups similar to what you would like and ask if you could tag along on a test drive to get a feel for the suspension. I run Toyo Proxes4 235/35/19 tires on iForged Daytona wheels with Bilstein grooved shocks set on the lowest groove with H&R sport springs. It is slightly firm but not harsh and handles very well. While it is not the best set-up for track, it is very good for everyday use and I am very happy with the results.

Make sure when you do your research and get feedback from different people, to ask what their preferences are and what they use their car for as this will help you to make your decision as you will be able to interject your own tastes. Also take into consideration your area as 19's are more susceptible to damage due to potholes and bad road conditions then other smaller sized wheels. The down side to my set-up is that it is not height adjustable so this is just one more thing to take into consideration when coming to a decision.

As for me, I love the ride of my 19's as well as the handling and of course the look. Just my .02 ...... [:D]

Check the link in my sig as it will give you an idea of how my suspension sits. This will be a good gauge to determine ride height of your basic spring and shock and if it will suite your needs as compared to a coilover set-up.

B6- wheel wells are large enough that the wheels don't over power the wheel well

I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say your rolling on the ugly 5 spoke 15" stockers on your 2.slow auto.

to the OP, like Fred said. Catch a ride with someone on a proper 19" setup and you will be surprised as to how close it is to stock than you think. I've got 19x8.5 et 37 + 5mm spacers with Bilstein sport/Neuspeed race 235/35, rolled fenders. Only time it's a bad ride is with big potholes, in which case 18s would have the exact same problem...

boosted up not only are you an asshole, you're a terribly stupid e-thug, this isn't the mkIV forum on VWvortex.
zombieattack is right. Have you ever see 18's on B6 or B7? The car absolutely dwarfs the wheels, they look like 16's or 17's on a B5.
Don't be hating on 2.slows either, I loved mine. It wasn't fast, but it was a solid car. Besides if you are an Audi enthusiast and don't have any VW love, you're just a brand whore.

To the OP:
The bigger a rim is, the lower profile tire you have to run, and the more likely you are to mess it up. It's a risk you take, but you gotta pay to play. 19's can be pulled off, I assume you looked at Fred's car, shit's hot. If they're good looking wheels I see no reason you couldn't pull them off, especially if you are ordering coilovers. Good luck and you know everybody on AZ loves pics so post them when you get some.

for the op my setup., wish i had rolling shots, cause 19s rolling look sweet. Maybe fred or others can chime in with some pics so you have reference. there are MANY people who run 19s without any problems, I mean if your going to drag, autox, then maybe they wont be for you. but if it's just you DD. you should be fine.

Funny there is a Subaru Legacy a couple towns over with that exact paint scheme.

I have seen plenty of B5's with 19's that LOOK great. I have never ridden in one so I can't tell you about comfort. I have heard from many people that 18's are the better choice for track.

Another thing that might change your opinion are tire prices. Sometimes prices can jump, once again someone who owns 19's will be able to tell you this, but it also depends on the type of tire you want. Very often someone telling you the ride quality sucks is because of tire choice, suspension choice and setup.

As for me I am going for 18's. Large enough for BBK's, looks, performance and are in my cost profile.

Also 19's are easyer to fuck up, if you have smoothe ass roads and you want alot of rim go with 19's but here in vancouver bc..because of the winter we have had theres fuckin pot holes everywhere.. and tho its not much 18's have a bit more rubber to protect you.

My front fender inner lips are rolled, and my liners are trimmed too - did it all last year after installing new Kumho MX's. The previous tire was a Toyo T1S and it had a more round shoulder... no issues at all. But the MX's have an extremely square shoulder (where the sidewall meeds the tread).
