Not if your trying to put it on a B5 shifter. The B5 knob has threads, the B6 is a clamp on.

cut the threads off and it works.. pacman has the same setup on his b5

But whats the point? Plus cutting the shaft just means you have to reach down further to grab the shifter. Why not just buy a JHM custom shift knob in the right design?

this is the a3 knob which appears to be the same style as my buddies 04 knob.. a little different but about the same height.

because of the height difference, cutting the threads doesnt make it any lower.. this car has a short shifter with the stock knob was VERY low.. now its not o so low anymore.

i was thinking about that but i kinda want oem. but the jhm is my second choice if i dont feel like the b6 knob[wrench]

because of the shape of the b5 shifter, the sleeve that slides down over it wont go down far enough, and the shifter sits at about radio level
so i just cut maybe an inch off of the ebay short shifter i have, to get the knob down to a normal level, and clamped it on with a hose clamp.
