Particulars: 30v 2.8v quattro

I've searched, but came up empty. Anyone replace their breather hoses with silicone?

I'm in the process of replacing the CTS and decided to clean out the TB while I was at it. I was barely leaning on the engine and my plastic breather hose running from the drivers-side to the passenger-side bank broke clean off in three places! It was probably the weight of my sweater dangling that caused it to explode in a cloud of flaky plastic. I could not believe how brittle that thing was!

Seeing as how I'm going to keep the car for a while and it took only 10 years for the plastic to petrify, I'm wondering if anyone has redone them in silicone?

Anything wrong with this idea?

I have some silicone hoses in my bay, don't buy them off of ebay - buy some quality silicone hoses because it will make all the difference ...

So you did this already. Good advice on ebizzle. Honestly, I almost never buy anything on ebay for that reason: crappy quality. If anyone knows of a decent online retailer, let me know.

Yeah I had a turboed GSX eclipse before and had bought a $150 silicone hose kit and my engine shut down on me on the highway. One of the silicone hoses split like 3 inches. I would not recommend hose kits on ebay but other things are fine im sure.
