Soo ima change my tranny fliud and i made up my mind that im going with REDLINE?! But they have 2 different ones:
MTL witch is 70W80
or
MT-90 witch is 75W90
I am instaling a southbend stage 3 nd might as well change the oil while the tranny is off witch brings me to the second question?
what is that tool called to unscrew the fill plug or drain plug? i know its a special tool just dont know what its called or were to get it...[headbang]

no hay problema mi amigo de la norte.

both fluids iirc should be adequate, as long as you dont slam 5-w40 in. the stuff we use at the dealer (and that i use personally) is OEM 75w90, but i think you can get away with 70w80. the 90 would prolly be safer though.

the special tool is a security triple square socket. available at ecs tuning (http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Volkswagen&engine=1.8T&model=Golf%20IV&submodel=&category=Tools&subcategory=Hand%20Tools). part number: es#8234. this is the drain plug tool. the fill plug iirc is on the drivers side of the trans, halfway up. 8mm allen i think, but also bring a 10mm just in case. rust penetrant helps too. hope this helps. hasta luego!

Do they have any Redline shock? That stuff works great when mixed in with the Redline MT-90.

I run about 1/2-1 quart of Shockproof and the rest MT-90.

Yes Heavy is what you want because light is not for syncro type transmissions.

and the triple square stated is what is needed. its a standard SIZE triple square, but its not a standard socket. it is a security socket (hollow section tip) to allow the pin in the center of the plug. a regular triple square wont work. you need the one i posted above.

IIRC someone posted that Audi says it never needs to be changed.

sweet! just assumed it would need it considering the Haldex system needs servicing every 30k or so....

it should be the same for me right? well i mean cuz you have all these mods on your car, and different clutch and all?
but your internals are stock right? if so ill go and just swap a quart for a heavy shock proof..

and i was just wondering if there was a more exact size see if i can pick it up at like sears or something?

Correct. I just run a 100% stock 1.8t transmission.
