Log time lurking, and this is a great site.

There is a humming sound by the shifter/e-break area which sounds like an electric motor buzzing. The sound is not constant, it sounds like a motor adjusting something, similar to the mirror adjusting and the sound is definitely by the shifter area...

I didn't have time to lift the covers to see whats under there so i figured i would ask. It is an '01 A4 1.8T.

Thanks in advance.

Could just be your blend doors.

It may be, but do those constantly adjust... this seems to keep adjusting/humming..

Could be the NYC pot holes that cause it... [:D]

Sure did a number on my control arms [wrench]

You know, I wouldn't be surprised one bit, I went through 2 sets of control arms on my 98. For this car I got the HD tie rods, hopefully they'll last longer.
