Columbus, TX March 15th, 2009 [DATE CHANGE] -- SEE DETAILS BELOW

[BRING 2 WAY RADIOS IF POSSIBLE! The more the better! Think about it, we will need a way to communicate with a group of 35+ Audi's hauling ass]

Okay, I'm making it official. We are going to have a TEXAS Audi/VW meet in Columbus, TX. Columbus,TX is centrally located and easy to get to from Houston, Austin and San Antonio. It is at the crossroads of I10 and Hwy71, an hour from Houston, an hour twenty minutes from Austin and about two hours from SA. The plan is lets all meet up at 12 To answer to the question, "Where are we going to do all of this cooking?" There is a Lower Colorado River Authority Park on Highway 90 just, and I mean just, east of Columbus. Heading east on 90, cross the bridge and hit the right turn signal. The park is right there on the Colorado River. Please refer to the following link to Beason's Park. Beason's Park (http://www.lcra.org/parks/river_access/beasons.html)
Driving west on I10 from Houston take exit 696 and continue west on Hwy 90, Beason's park is on the left before the bridge. Sam Houston and the Texas Army camped here on the march to San Jacinto. If it was good enough for Sam Houston it should work for us! Also you can mapquest it to make directions easier.
For lunch, I say everyone pitches in and brings something different, like hot dogs, buns, drinks, plasticware, napkins, hamburger patties, cheese, ice, etc. I will bring the grill and charcoal. From there I say we spend a couple hours looking at the cars and eating. After that, TerryOh knows of some nice back country roads in Columbus, so we will go on a spirited drive. I'm guessing by the time we are done with all of that we can go out to eat at Los Cabos. I will make a reservation in a week or two once we get more people signed up. All of Texas is invited, so come on down!!! Bring whomever you would like to come whether it be family or friends! The more people the better! I'm going to start a list below. This Will also be posted on other forums. Reply to thread stating if you can come or not and what you will bring and etc.

Okay just talked to TerrOh.
Sound like it's NOT going to rain. 20% of chance of scattered showers. That's npthing! So the meet is still on! Right now from everyone that is signed up I expect 30+ cars atleast with about 50 people. Im about to make the reservation at Los Cabos for 50 people.

Questions;
1. How long would you all like to go driving for? 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours?
2. What time should I make the reservation for?

Keep in mind, we arrive at 12, cook, then eat, then lok at cars. We will probably be in the parking lot for a good 3-4 hours. Then Driving, then eating.

Also Terry said for the six months he has lived in Columbus, he has only seen the local PD 2 or 3 times. He said that there is a very slim to no chance at all we will see them on back country roads.
