should actually put up some night pics-
and almost all of these lights can be used with nice set of hids and it makes them 100% better.
I got my depo-s for almost no money and put the hids in with a little mod and next to original D2S they are totally the same, just the cutting on the surface is little different, but driving at night - no difference to be seen.

i think your halos are a bit lighter than mine i like your halos better but install was a success. little bit of filing needed for h1 fitment but all in all took me about an hour.

With just low beams and halos are wired to running lights so no orange corners

Looks good. They have a smooth ring version of the same headlights.

Everything is the same except the ring is smooth not crystalized like diamonds.

You should throw in some hyper white 194 bulbs to change the color of the rings to hyper white.

danphines
02-26-2009, 03:43 PM
i would but the ring bulbs dont come out without taking off the plastic lens on the front and these used to leak water aka the reason i got them for free and i just finished sealing them up so i dont wanna take em apart again

I thought these had the rubber 194 bulb sockets in the back you can just pull out and plug back in?

Still lookin good though.

they have rubber on the back do they just pull out?

You should have 3 or 4 behind each ring on the inside. They're just rubber grommets, pull them out and youll see the bulb.

Just get regular hyper white 194 bulbs. Dont go LED, LED is bright but wont disperse the light inside the rings evenly so you'll just get a few bright spots.

Hope this helps.

haaahaaa,
exactly why I payd for my lights only some 60 EUR-s.
Was not actually an easy fix to get that right because they where leaking all over. I contacted even the manufacturer and they said that it is normal when a light is leaking - so the air can get in and out[:D][:D][:D]
like hesus maria christofo- like WTF- like you really can't be that stupid and manufacture lights.

You can get them anywhere, ebay has them, theyre just hyper white 194 bulbs. Dont get LED, they will look shitty.

These headlights made by Reliable and often sold on eBay, did not have good ventilation. The early ones (about 2yrs ago had smaller vent holes and missing rubber 'macaroni' breathers. That's why you have issues with condensation. The newer versions of these have larger breather ports.

Still most lights if they condensate, you probably installed them in wet weather, early morning, or there was moisture in the air. Then later in the day or the next day, you have condensation. It happens just like sometimes your windshield gets fogged up. When you see this happen, take out the lamp immediately and dry it up. Unlike your windshield there is no defroster. Use a hair dryer or bake it to make sure 100% moisture is gone. If you leave the moisture in there it will keep coming back and keep growing until you have a pool of water. It's a physics thing. It can happen to all lamps even stock.

Most headlights do not have this issue and condensation can be set right by doing the above and making sure you install the headlights at the right time.
I just know for a fact that the ones shown in this thread are the early type made by Reliable.

how come when i switch on my high beams, the HIDs go out? stupid question which can be solved by looking under the hood but the car is 30 mins from my temporary housing thing and its cold to go look.

Tigu

then the original connector was H4 light bulb and it swiches off the low beam.
suppose something could be done for that.

Not for me, to be honest.

If anything, I actually prefer the OEM early glass units.

Whoa, not a a very good beam spread with those projectorsl. Just to let you know an H7 halogen projector (which are what our stock facelift headlights are) is going to respond much better to HID's than an H1 projector.

the beam is just fine!!!!!!!!!
did make a test with the original and on the road there can be sensed no difference. just the tips of beams are different.

Well as long as they work well for you, that's all that matters.

Just curious what original were you comparing them to? OEM projector/reflector, halogen/HID?

danphines

im comparing them to the ones in my earlier post where you can see i had oem 2 piece reflectors which light output was aweful. and if i could afford stock oem hid projectors i would jump on those in a second.

I totally agree with you the OEM pre-facelift headlights are quite bad, when I originally switched mine to Depo's it was a ridiculous improvement. Enjoy being able to drive at night now lol [:d]

I actually knew thats what you were comparing them to, I was more wondering what "Tigu" was comparing them to as he stated in a previous post.
