Hey guys

Well, I have had my car for about 6 months and never was really interested in an exhaust for my car until now. Unfortunately, in terms of exhaust, i do have the 2.8L 30V engine so I know theres not much I can do. And that leads to my question...

Where is the best place to purchase a magnaflow muffler? I found the muffler on ebay for $191 best offer, is that as low as i will find it? I asked some guys on AF and they were saying magnaflow 14816 is the best option, but i figured that you guys would have some input here too. Are there any other big name brands that make something similar with twin tips, because thats definately the route i want to go. Also, what size tips should i get? 2, 2.5, or 3"?

I dont want an over-the-top sound, just something with a nice purrrrr, especially since I dont want to wake the parents when I sneak out sometimes. Im sick of my stock exhaust tips and want to get something that will look and sound better. If I were to purchase a magnaflow muffler, or something similar, then how do i attach it to the stock piping, and it is very easy to do? Im a noob at exhausts so please WRITE OUT unfamiliar words, and pics are always appreciated.....

Thanks again guys

Any straight through muffler will sound great on the V6 with a straight through res.

Seriously, go buy a ebay Dual straight tip muffler for $35 shipped and have the exahust shop bend up some stainless 2.5" pipe and put a straight through res on it.

youtube search V6 audi exhaust.

do magnaflow mufflers come with resonators in them? Again, I am a huge exhaust noob and have never worked on them. How easy is the muffler install?

no a resonator is kinda like a second muffler that goes before the muffer to cut the drone a bit

I was happy with just a magnaflow muffler on my V6. IMO, 14815 is the better looking size for the A4. And, unless you want a big change, I would recommend leaving the stock resonator. Here's a sound clip.

ya actually im a going to purchase the 14815 because i dont like the fat walls of the tips on the 14816 and its a bit cheaper too. I got a quote from a magnaflow warehouse a few hundred miles from my house for the 14815 muffler. MSRP is $219.99, and he is gunna give it to me for $138.78 w/ free shipping, so I think this is best deal I can get. I will def post pics when im done, but i probably wont install until april or may, or whenever this freakin dnow goes away :(

thanks again guys and keep it "Quattro"

Yeah i would be interested what you do aswell. A sound clip would be nice once you have everything hookedup. Exhaust will prob be the summer mod for my 2.8.
