I'm tired of the crappy autozone ones lasting as a one time use and the matco guy comes today, so I'm going to order the stupid 12 point looking Allen type socket. However I don't know the size off hand. Any help?

according to this (http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng48.shtml) it's a '12 point T40 Torx bit' which sounds right to me. You're talking about those little 12pt guys that hold the axles to the diff right?

Yessir, the ones that bolt up to the tranny

oo those things suck. I replaced all those "12 points" with an allen bolt, way stronger and definitely worth changing over. Idk what size though, if your in a pinch and need the size/length/thread just call like purems or something they should know.

That is the collar bolt, he wants to know about the axle to trans flange bolts if I understood correctly

it's not a torq bit. it's a triple square. I just don't know the size. It's either a 10 or 12mm. I just ordered a set from Snapon. He was actually cheaper than Matco for once lol.

mine was 14mm. It's changed somewhere along the line... 99.5 IIRC.

edit-
12pt torx = triple square.
