My car (an 04' A4 1.8T) has been driving great since i bought it. It only has 41k miles on it and today while shifting, my clutch got stuck in the down position. I was able to pop it back up and on i went..then i started back up again and in the middle of shifting from gear to gear the clutch seems to grind a lot but im still able to shift...PLEASE HELP!

If the pedal stays down, you have either a bad slave, or low fluid. You can check the fluid and report back. My car did that periodically and when I replaced the slave, all was better.

i got the pedal back up but every time i shift, (while letting go of the clutch and giving gas) it makes this horrible grinding noise like the gears are having a hard time catching or something...i dont really know much about drivetrains and transmissions so i donno if thats the best way to describe the problem..thanks

Sounds like its a bad throw out bearing... I had the same problem.
