hey guys i got an oil min light tonight after getting off the highway so i checked the oil level. it's a little low but i found some yellow goop on the dipstick. i'm not losing coolant but i am loosing a bit of oil. lose about a quart every oil change which i think is normal considering my car has 121k and mostly city driving. so my question is, wth is the yellow goop?

Its condensation. Look under the oil cap, should be built up there too.

i didn't take any pix as i only pulled over and needed to get the family home. it was pretty thing because it didn't rly leave anything on the rag i wiped it on. i hope it is just condensation. i change my oil every 3k miles on the dime and use mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic with a mobil 1 filter. weird thing is, i changed my oil only 1k miles ago. my engine burns oil but it doesn't do it at a constant rate lol. i rly hope i don't need to do the head gasket though. i just need this engine to last me another year and a half of college and then the engine will be gone.

Taste it, if it tastes sweet it is coolant, if it tastes bitter itis condensation. I know it's sick but it's easier than compression test and take less time.

lol, that would be nasty. i went to take a look earlier but i didn't find anything under the cap. i guess i'll just have to taste it next time i spot it. ugh. thanks guys
