quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm produced the last of 8,081 RS 6 - a unique combination of Biturbo engine and quattro drive, from roomy body and superior dynamic chassis.

The RS 6 provides a one of a kind driving experience. Ist biturbo 4.2-liter V8 boasts 450-hp and 560 Nm torque at a low 1950 rpm. The DRC chassis with variable shock absorption keeps the RS6 more flat in curves without a loss in comfort, while quattro all-wheel drive guarantees the very best traction.

Since May 2002, quattro GmbH has been bringing this car to market – a car that combines the space and comfort of the A6 with the performance and handling of a supercar.

The RS 6 was built in cooperation by quattro GmbH and Audi AG as a sedan and Avant – produced in Audi’s Neckarsalm plant. Work by hand was done by quattro GmbH at their own hall in Neckarsalm where 30 RS 6 models were built per day and where 120 workers are currently employed.

Approximately 6,000 units were originally planned, but, as Werner
Frowein, managing director quattro of the GmbH stated, "the demand exceeded even our optimistic expectations ". Altogether 8,081 units of Audi’s highest performance sedan were produced since May 2002.

With a limited production run of 999 units, quattro GmbH expanded the range with the Audi RS-6 plus Avant last April. The limited edition uber-wagon offered 30 more bhp for a total of 480bhp, accelerating from 0-62 mph in only 4.6 seconds.

In the autumn of 2005, quattro GmbH will begin series production of the next-generation R S4, based on the new B7 A4, in their Neckarsalm workshop. Until then, employees will support regular A6 production and begin training for RS 4 production.

Love the last paragraph in this PR. Also, that's a damn fine looking RS 6 as well... [cool]
