I'm going to be picking up a set of winter tires/wheels, and this guy is selling a set w/ 225/45/17 tires on 5x114.3cm wheels.
Will they fit on the S4?

Alright, thanks for the quick replies. I found another set that originally went on a MB CLS500, he says they're 5 lug 120mm. I'm assuming that's not 5x120?

Mercedes is 5x112 as well. wheels should bolt up but may not be hubcentric.
you can fit 5x114.3 w/o adapters, you just need to get yourself a set of wobble bolts (http://www.20squared.com/product_p/1.1.206.htm&Click42).

Sorry for being a noob, but what exactly does that mean? Will it degrade performance or handling? They're only winter wheels, but I don't want to damage the car.

OK noob.
5x112 = bolt pattern, 5 hole pattern equally spaced in a circle with a diameter of 112 mm
The bolts used on the vehicle are M14x1.5 (14mm threads x 1.5mm pitch). Stock bolts use a ball seat type of lug and aftermarket use a tapered seat lug, which you'll probably need.
Hubcentricity refers to the diameter of the hub on the axle, which is 57.1mm and the diameter of the the through hole on the wheel it self. OEM wheels have a bore diameter of 57.1mm, if the wheel that you purchase doesn't have the specified 57.1mm diameter then you must use a "hubcentric" ring, which adapts the hub diameter to the wheel bore diameter.
You should also make sure the offset of the wheel will work out for your setup. http://www.rims-n-tires.com/info_specs.jsp
Searching will help you understand this topic. As some issues can arise if the wheel is not properly centered. The most common symptom would be a shaking/vibrating steering wheel.

I already have good summer tires on my S4, but this is an amazing deal.
