I've had my key buttons stop working about 7 times in the last four months and it's starting to really piss me off. I go to hit the button to roll the windows up or down after I walk out of the car, and BAM, nothing works. I have to go and recode it again and again after it happens. Anyone else have it happen to them repeatedly? I'd really be angry if I didn't have an alarm to do keyless entry with.

does it happen on both keys, assuming you have two, or just one?

I do have both. Just happens in the one key. After recoding it works just fine again for a few weeks, even a month, then again it stops working.

do you have auto-unclock with key removal? if yes, if the cylinder doesn't click when you remove the key from the ignition, then the car will think the key is still there and will not let you lock it or control the windows with the remote (since you could accidentally lock yourself out of the car). You have to either put the key back in and turn it until it clicks when you take it out, or just lock the key by turning it in the door. I had this problem until I realized I had to turn it more. I think my ignition cylinder is going out again.

I had my one key stop working for a bit, but all seems good now.

It has always clicked when removing it. Ad if that were the issue, it would make me wonder why then, the other remote works 100% of the time, and just this one fails. Recoding brings it back to working fne.

Have you swapped batteries...maybe its just getting down to the end of its life.

Batteries were swapped twice already. This kinda small stuff really gets on my nerves.

That would drive me nuts, theres no reason or explanation for that happening.

Yeah that's what I mean. I just noticed it stopped working again the other day. Who knows how lng it's been without working. Recoded it last night and al is wel yet again. I ask here, cause I know the dealer is of no use.

not likely.

I think one of those fancy $20 remote covers might fix it... just a thought [:)]

haha, I'm getting one either way. I can only think that it must be the transceiver in the remote that has a glitch.

Just keep complaining at the dealer, demand a new remote section
