I haven't heard too many bad things about ASA wheels. I mean they are "licensed by BBS". I'd say they are probably a step up from the HP wheels, if anything...

I seem to remember learning that ASA's are generally heavy. Maybe 'cuz they're cast. Of course, it would depend on the style, size, etc.
If weight is a concern, check with TireRack before you buy.

linky doesn't work, it said session expired???

Wierd for a wheel to cause air sounds. The vibration may be from hitting big potholes or something. That HP wheel I believe is an ADR product. Supposed to be a good wheel for the price. Weight is like 22-23 (18"). It does look good as well.

Or the vibration is as simple as a tire out of balance, how could all of you not think of that? Seriously. To add to it ogi lay off so many periods, complete your sentences before you need to have a period. I understand your typing as you think.

Just save the money and apply it elsewhere.

Thanks for your advice jesseah, i did wheel balance three times actually and got sick of it but still the vibration.
so, you recommand re-adusting tire by taking off and putting on again? if that helps i will try do that.
one more thing, is there certain way to balance the wheel?

10-20-2004, 08:13 PM
Do you have weights on the inside or the outside of your wheel?

There are 2 types of balancing your tires, static and another way. But I forget. Your wheel could be bent also... Make sure the shop is doing it right. Your alignment could also be off also causing a vibration.

many times the actual tire may be bad or cheaply made which can cause vibrations just as an out of balance wheel would.

and you cant balance it out

10-20-2004, 08:29 PM
i have weight on both outside and inside,
and i didn't do alignment because the place where they do alignment told me that i don't need to do it.
should i just do the alignment? or is it the two weight balance thing.
Thank you very much for all your insights

alignment should not cause a vibration,

its all in the rotational masses (wheels and tires)

read the second line...Licensed by BBS....
ASA are just a cheaper version of BBS wheels...they are basically the exact same units, just not the same price

i dont see a huge difference...

go asa save the $

GET THE ASA'S. They look awesome on our cars, and my AR1's are indestructible. I can't even begin to explain how many times I should have blown tires and bent my rims, but they come out looking brand new still. They're a lot better quality than you might expect...

are the BBS forged?
