Finally got my new setup in the mail and started doing some work on it [:D]
This is not your average K04 Install [:/] Takes Time to do

Should be in the car by Wednesday and turnkey by Friday
I still need more fire sleeving [=(] nothing can be over looked here everything needs to be covered so nothing melts.
Once All is in and engine is broken in time to custom tune this baby

Nice! what type of clutch is that?

Southbend Stage 4 tired of clutchmasters and their shitty warranty and all their cluthches blowing up on me. Last time the spring poped out and they wouldnt warranty their clutch disc.

Sorry for a noob question but I'm gonna ask it anyways. I'm interested in doing a GT build on my S4, but I'm reading that lots of people are building the 2.8 liter engine up. Is this the engine on the 2.8 A4 that is being used?

Man, you went tits out with the exhaust wrap! All the way up to the wastegates.

I am going to swaintech my manifolds and heat wrap my downpipe, that is the extent of it for now.

Greg, big progress is going on with my car. Finally. I am going to need a bigger injector solution, I think.

yeah, they don't have a 6spd tranny available do they?

and the TIP trans fails at even chipped power levels.

cool fact about the cosworth engines. didn't know that. but it does make a whole lotta sense

Hmm 82 is new to me. I am used to 60, 83 and 96

Either PM/IM/text me a price. I'm going to rock the 60's to break in the motor. But for the new tune, I am thinking a new fuel overhaul will be needed, (possibly a GenX fuel rail) at least to make the numbers I want.

We still gotta come up with a solution for the pump, whether it be going twin 255's or something else.

Keep me posted.

In the meantime, more about this GT setup. Bee, where are you located?

I've heard that all that wrap will simply trap in moisture that gets into the engine bay and further accelerate the process of rusting

I've heard that all that wrap will simply trap in moisture that gets into the engine bay and further accelerate the process of rusting

I think any moisture that gets stuck in there will dry up real quick with all of the heat that the pipes produce.

WMi_S4
12-02-2008, 11:15 AM
I think any moisture that gets stuck in there will dry up real quick with all of the heat that the pipes produce.

yea but the heat would eventually evaporate the moisture as the wrap allows the moisture to sink into and be absorbed by the wrap, therefore having your DP's, wastgates and other items be wrapped in soggy, wet heat shielding wrap

Not saying I know this for a fact, just putting it out there as I have heard it as a "rumor" and would like to get the fact straight on it....

For those w/ GT setups or a ton of money into their S, yea, the winter
